Bittersweet Haul

Happy with all the choices but I was 5 minutes too late for Talking Heads 77. The person who grabbed it had no idea who they were😑.

$1,50 CAD each

Front Man's Burden?

War has always been one of my favourite jazz/funk bands. I know Eric Burdon's rock legend status was already established from his work with the Animals, but his time with War always seemed a little too pseudo-colonial for me (or maybe he was just playing the front man to sell more albums?).

The gatefold pictures for this album may be a reflection of the times but kind of back up this feeling I've had. I originally posted them but it got moderated. I'd be interested in learning more about how the band felt about all this.

Anyway, the cover is a bit damaged but for $1,50 CAD? I'll take it. Love this band even if Burdon thought he was black like them.

I Freaked Out!

...when I saw The Mother's of Invention randomly sitting among the usual drek that was about to be put on the shelves. It needs a clean but it's in good shape. Right place, right time

Got Boz Scaggs at another store

$3,50CAD Total🤯

Black and White world

I couldn't resist the weirdness of Klaus but I'm digging Lene Lovich more musically. I was hoping Klaus would be more Amon Duul and less Berthold Brecht but I was wrong. $15 CAD total. The spines are all fucked up but they play nice.

Midweek Gold

The Van the man vinyl is so heavy it feels like a reissue and I can't believe Al got rid of psychedelic Booker T jamming. $3 CAD total.

This week's crate digging finds

I love nondescript record stores in the middle of nowhere suburbs. Got these for a total of $48,50 CAD. Never heard of The Late Show but it was sealed at the friperie (thrift store) across the street for $2. Is it worth listening to? Discogs said British pop punk (?).

Grail Mint $3

The cover is a bit damaged but the music is a pure trippy synth pop opus that I've been searching for a long time.

Eclectic Haul

A strange assortment for $21 CAD total. Not complaining though.

Never heard of Revelation, but Rosie must have liked them enough.

I know the lurid pink of Nevermind the bollocks and the gritty blacks and white of The Ramones first album are up there too, but has there been any aesthetic more PUNK than Frankenchrist by the Dead Kennedys...so punk I'm afraid I'd get banned for showing the entire poster.

I don't know his work but I saw Eddie Calhoun plays bass so I figured it would cook and picked it up for 6$. About to put it on ...
