Wick’s clogged; my fault

Got this thing online & filled it at first with Kerosene, like the site said. It wouldn’t light with the sparks, only with an external flame. Came to find out they meant Naptha/Lighter fluid.

Wick seems to saturate a lot slower & worse when I put in isopropyl now. It’s also really tough to tug out. One of those copper-cotton wicks. Any tips on how to remove wick & reinstall?

What’s the point of scaling tech faster than anything else?

Very new to stellaris, only on my first run and at year 2380. I’ve invested largely in tech, alloys, and navy but I see far better returns in strengthening military from building ships & upgrading fleets than doing research, which only occasionally gives something good for navy and mostly unlocks random buildings and stuff.

What’s with all the devotion to maxxing tech output?
