Dramas love fireworks but I can't relate 😭

Not just in k, j, and c-dramas, but also in animation, fireworks are something all the characters love. And I agree, they do look pretty - but only on the tv, where I don't have to hear them. I just personally find fireworks really obnoxious 😭 My nervous system is not wired to enjoy them and I'm always worried about my pets. They just stress me out. Low-key wish they only existed in fiction.

Weird trick to help dyshidrotic eczema

When I get a flare up, the absolute worst part (after the itching) is the dry skin. It hurts and no amount of lotion or ointments help.

But this week when I was scrolling on TikTok, I saw a nail influencer (literally no idea who it was, just some random girl) talking about on the go oil soak. Essentially slathering on oil and slapping on some latex gloves for 10 to 30 minutes. My hands were dry and peeling and cracking everywhere, so I figured why not?

I used basic cuticle oil, just whatever I had one hand, and nitrile gloves. Just 20 minutes on, then immediately followed by the Eczema Honey hand lotion, a layer of Aveeno hydrocortisone, and aloe vera gel to seal everything in. And omg, the difference it made???? No more itching. No more peeling and cracks. Even the blisters are going away.

I think the oil soak made a real difference. I know for dyshidrotic eczema that constant wet moisture is the enemy, but dryness just makes everything worse. And the recommendation is always cotton gloves, but I've always found that the cotton just absorbs things FROM my skin and I don't get the benefit. But an oil soak with nitrile gloves, followed by occulsives? Finally my hands are comfortable and healing.

I plan to make this part of my daily routine to keep my hands in good condition, especially since I'm in the middle of my flare up season (does that happen to anyone else, when like spring hits and all the sudden its blisters and itch everywhere??)

TLDR; oil is your friend when you have dyshidrotic eczema

Swavy hack???

Just discovered something for my hair (fine, 2b/2c, mid bob). I love a good hair mask but as all fine hair girlies know, masks are so heavy they 86 the wave pattern. So I have a modified co wash routine.

I use the kitsch coconut mask on wet hair, leave it on and scrub it into my roots for 5 or so min. Then I follow with the kitsch tea tree shampoo, wring out excess water, then spray the kitsch leave in conditioner. Plop for 15 or so minutes then allow to air dry. I get loosely defined waves that actually stay clean for 2 days, probably because of reversing the shampoo and mask order.

I used to love the wen co wash but I'd have to clarify every other time. This gives me the benefits of the mask, then allows me to use regular shampoo/conditioner the next 2 or 3 washes.

Yall are SLEEPING on A Splendid Match

Easily the best historical romance drama to drop this spring, imo. If you liked The Legend of the Female General, Love Like the Galaxy, The Sword and Brocade, The Long Ballad, or The Prisoner of Beauty, you will like this one!!!

First, the cast chemistry was fantastic. I believed the tension and the relationship building between the ML and FL. He was such a *yeaner*!

Second, the FL is smart and capable, a real business tycoon, putting her weird family members in place, becoming the head of her branch, etc.

Third, the secondary relationships were great. The second male lead had me rooting for him. I was ALL ABOUT the intrigue and political maneuvering from the ML. Very well written characters, even the delusional ones.

I just can't recommend it enough. I'm such a sucker for a competent couple, but nobody is talking about this show enough!

She told me to leave her alone for the rest of her life and I'm just TIRED

I was told to "leave me alone for the rest of my life!" Over what, you might ask? Because I prompted her to eat something when she took her medicine. You know, since taking certain meds on an empty stomach make things harder on the body and literally ½ a PBJ would be enough to line her stomach and prevent ulcers.

Oh, but that's being unreasonable and controlling and bothersome! Didn't you know that? I didn't! Apparently, looking out for someone is a burden on THEM!

I'm so mad and tired and out ideas, patience, and compassion. And stuck here.

Leave her alone for the rest of her life? Why don't I leave her alone for the rest of MY life and make mine really, really, really short? How about that?

EDIT TO ADD: Mom does not have dementia!! She's 62 with CPTSD and probably a narcisstic personality, as well as some physical disabilities that limit her mobility. I've given a lot of grace over the years for her behavior toward me, but the truth is that not everything is a trigger like she says it is, and even then, threatening to hit me, call her case manager on me, call my absentee brother, move out, kick me out, etc. are manipulation tactics to get her way, not a trauma response. I can forgive a trigger upset; I shouldn't have to forgive a tantrum because she wants power, control, or whatever.

I take forever to watch dramas and Blossom has been on my list for ages. Finally started watching it this weekend and I FULLY understand the hype now. It's fantastic.

Not so fantastic was Fated Hearts...I just couldn't get into it.

Bag boy brought a second cart...and lined it up behind me.

I do my shopping for the entire month at one time, so my shopping cart is usually full to the brim.

This time, the cashier oddly insisted that in the process of taking items out of the cart, placing them on the belt, scanning, and then bagging them, my items would somehow increase in volume, meaning I would need a second cart. He was *very* insistent on the idea that bagging increases the volume of groceries. He even made a hand gesture, miming *explosive* and saying "growth". I was perplexed, honestly. This was my first time hearing that groceries magically get more voluminous when bagged, or that somehow groceries that originally fit in one cart would then require two carts to contain.

Anyway, the cashier told the bagger to go get a second cart and the kid (college age maybe) did. I suppose the idea was to place the bagged items in the new cart while I finished emptying mine. Sure. Makes sense.

Except when the bagger brought the empty cart, he lined it up behind me. Making it unusable for its intended purpose since my cart was still full and there was no way for the empty cart to bypass mine.

The cashier looked at the bagger like, ????

The bag boy said that the aisle was one way, which was confusing since the checkout lane is open on both ends. The store has carts at the front, so he could have easily just...kept the new cart at the front of the line where he stood, instead of circling through the next door empty lane and lining it up behind me.

I didnt even need the second cart, by the way. I never do. What fits in the cart before bagging will fit in the cart after bagging.

I have been thinking about this all day.
