[Hire] 5/16 Bolt Reduced to 1/4-20

Hello,

I can’t seem to find someone willing to lathe / CNC down a 5/16 bolt to 1/4 and thread it.

Been quoted $75 but I guess not worth their time as they stopped responding.

Box of 15 is $8 on Amazon so literally can ship these anywhere if someone.

If you’re curious - I want the same head profile but need the shank slimmer.

Using a 1/4” bolt instead is just slightly to small / noticeable as there are “normal” 5/16 bolts on the same plane.

Anyone else know you can bypass the setup wizard?

Sorry if obvious, or maybe it's a new code thing but

Just remove "/wizard/" from the URL on a defaulted / NIB WG.

Is there a wireless car play adapter that doesn't have a delay?

All the amazon ones I try work, except take 2-3 seconds to respond to a button press.

Scanning dark reflective car hood.

Having a hell of a time. Using an Ultra Y.

I cannot get past a certain section - keep losing tracking

I have it sitting on a table, floating if you will.

Covered in dots, tried it with scanning spray, no light, mid day light.

Any tips? Only thing I haven’t tried are the pyramids / bars

I think someone said baby powder can work too?

Why the hell does licensing from Mist take so long?

Going on two weeks and I only have half my licenses.

I got the hardware early last week.

Is this anyone elses experience too?

Should the wire ever touch what you’re welding before the arc starts?

I was watching a welding video and there was enough contrast where I could say there was a good distance between the wire tip and what was being welded.

I know flux is….not the best for “clean” welds and sometimes I’ve got some good dimes but other times it looks like straight boogers.

Polarity is good, ground is good, metal is clean.

I am touching the wire to what I’m welding. Could that be part of my problem?

Scanning “inside” area of something?

I’m trying to create a glovebox for a classic car. The dimensions aren’t super crazy but have angles and such that make regular measuring tools ineffective

Is there a 3D scanner that is better for measuring “inside” a box?

In my head (am idiot) i need some sort of scanner that i can sit directly in the middle and it spins 360 degrees and builds the image from that.

I tried Polycam and it made a pretty good image but the dimensions were not accurate.

Thoughts?

After 3 MIG welding sessions using FLUX wire…which I’m told is very hard to look great.

I was able to draw my name, a smiley face and….other things.
