Sometimes you have to laugh

I need to post because this group will understand. I was on a work call today and my 87 year old mom called me. She never calls at work unless it’s an emergency. I told my manager I needed to step away for a family emergency and answered her call.

I ask if everything’s OK and she says, and I quote, “ I’m at the funeral home and it made me think of you. How are you doing?”

She knew I was working but it was the “only chance she had to call me all week. “ 87 years old. Retired. Lives alone. I was gobsmacked.

By the time I called my manager back I was laughing so hard I couldn’t speak. Her response was “Holy Sh*t” . If I don’t laugh, I’ll be pissed at her but I have to think she doesn’t mean to be an idiot.

Trying to decide on Kisquali

Meet with my oncologist today and was given information about kisquali and asked to think about it.

I have ILC, ++- stage 2, grade 3 with a micromet. Post menopausal with an oncotype of 16. Will start radiation soon and then letrozole.

This is the first therapy decision that is troubling so I’m glad I have time to review and research.

Wondering if anyone here has had a similar decision, either way, and how it’s going?

Thanks so much.

Seeking advice on choosing a tattoo artist

Hi
Apologies if this is not allowed

I’m planning to get my first tattoo at 65 to commemorate successful cancer treatment.

I have a design in mind but don’t know how to go about choosing an artist. I am wanting to do a Dara Knot with a small bit of kitsuni.

What should I look for in an artist and what is appropriate when looking? I don’t know where to begin and don’t know anyone with ink area.

Thank you for your help

Positive thoughts

++- ILC
Good morning. Surgery (lumpectomy) originally scheduled for 07:30 this morning has been pushed back to noon. I was so hoping to be on to recovery by now.

I have developed cold symptoms over night so I hope we can still get this done today. Anyone have a cold and still able to get surgery? Or have it rescheduled until symptoms are gone?

Question about blocking a pieced blanket. Need more characters in my title.

Sorry for the weird title. I made the Tulip Cube throw by Wilmade.

I have pinned it together and am trying to decide if I should unpin it and block each piece separately or stitch it together and then block. This is my first blanket that isn’t one solid piece. Thanks for any suggestions.

Fun celebration idea for when radiation is done

Apologies if I picked the wrong flair.

I will be having my surgery soon, to be followed by radiation.

When my husband has his radiation about ten years ago, I planned a “Glow in the Dark” party. I bought black lights and glow in the dark body paints. The kids had a blast painting themselves and grandpa then we turned on the lights. It was memorable and we plan to do it for me this summer.

Thought I would pass along the idea. We need to celebrate ourselves and passing these landmarks.
