Can’t eject filament from the canvas?

Hi,
I installed the Canvas last night, did a few multicolour prints and all went well.
Turned on the printer today, and tried to unload the filament by clicking on the spool, then unload - the screen pops up for less than a second then disappears?

Tried rebooting and same issue happens. I had to pull the filament out manually?

Has anyone had this issue?
The canvas doesn’t seem to grip the filament really strongly either, so it’s not pulling in from my dryer box properly. Is there an adjustment on the feed grip?

Cheers

How best to approach kerf bending for a large-ish CNC project?

Hi,

I'm at the beginning of my freecad journey and am about to seriously start modelling in it - first big job is a camper van and all it's furniture of be cut on a CNC machine.

I want to have kerf bent plywood on the rear bench seats and in the kitchen, is the best way to approach this

  • create my board to the right thickness and dimensions
  • use the sheetmetal workbench to bend the body at the appropriate place to the right radius
  • when I'm ready to cut, recreate the part, mark lines where the bend starts and finishes, then manually create the left cuts on that body
  • somehow flatten all those parts out and then create the CNC job?

Or should I create the kerf cuts on the body then bend the actual one with the sheetmetal bench?

Help! Thanks!!

This coco coir says it’s got nutrients in it - is it ok to use?

It’s the only one I could source at the local hardware store. Will the added nutrients be added contam?

CAM Bench confusion!

Hi team,

Hoping you can help me with a bit of a head scratcher I've got here. I'm learning the CAM workbench, but when I create a tool path, be that a pocket, or a profile, the tool path doesn't complete the object. It happens even if I select one face at a time or multiple. The toolbit is configured, there's plenty of space between the faces for it to complete the operation. I've assembled the parts flat with fixed joints with an offset of the tool width plus .01mm so there's no compute error. What should I be checking? Could it be a problem with the actual geometry of the part?

Thanks in advance

Help with CAM tool path?

Hi,

Using the cam tool bench and cutting out my first project which is awesome, but a quick question hopefully - I've used the pocket, 3d pocket and adaptive tool path with an end mill bit, and none of them are giving me the taper on the part as shown in the model. Is it because I've gone all the way down to the flat face at the bottom? If I were to want to cut this out, what tool path should I be using?

Thanks in advance.

Tutorial on recreating site survey and architectural drawings?

Hi!

I'm learning lots and loving FreeCAD, and now am trying to use it for basically every project.

Next one is planning a deck on the back of our house, and I have an existing site survey and some architectural drawings that I want to recreate as a 3d model so I can then play around with different designs.

I've been looking around and the closest tutorial I can find to start with is pretty old - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF_OpRIr7zY - is this still relevant? He's drawing the site contours in the part design workbench.

Does anyone know of a tutorial that walks through converting a standardised site survey / plan and architectural drawings into a model using the BIM workbench?

Thanks!

Hi,

I've been through all the Mangojelly beginner lessons and am starting to use this bad boy for all sorts of stuff.

What's the best practice here - I'm modelling my shed, do I do a new part for each of the beams and structural wood components, then group them together?

I also want to use this for furniture making and CNC routing, so thinking forward for that, is it best to make each component a separate body?

Thanks

Hey!

After being absolutely ripped off by the BMW dealer, I refused to pay them $350 aud to replace the cabin microfilter, and bought one from my local auto parts shop for $35, literally five minutes later it's installed.

I have the Veepeak BLE ii OBD adapter, and Bimmerlink, but am getting an error saying unable to connect to ECU. The service items I can reset are only the future items, not the micro filter listed here.

How can I reset this service?

I also tried going through the diagnostic mode, and service reset with the buttons on the steering wheel, but again only future services show. There are also a load of errors showing up, are any of these important?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

We’ve got a t30s combo - its been way way better than all of our previous robot vacs - but a lot of the time when it says ‘returning to station’ it’ll go in completely Th e opposite direction and just wander around rooms having a look. It seems to know exactly where it is on the map - the robot updates its location going clearly away from the station. Is it updating its maps? Getting intel? Becoming sentient? Does anyone else have the same thing?
