Is the T80S the best bang for the buck model in the T series?

I recently moved into a new place with my dog and I’m finally starting to take robot vacuums more seriously.

I am interested in T80s because it cover the things I actually care about: strong suction for pet hair and daily dirt, a roller style mop for paw prints and kitchen mess, and better edge cleaning for the areas near walls and the entryway.

I just want something that makes the floor easier to keep up with without feeling like I overspent. Is T80s worth it?

Bought the X12 Buddy Kit and it honestly made the robot feel refreshed again

I recently got the Buddy Kit for my Ecovacs X12, mostly for maintenance. The mopping roller is the part I’m probably most glad to have a spare for. I like being able to rotate them, so one can be cleaned properly and fully air dried instead of going straight back in while still damp. It just feels more hygienic, especially since the kitchen and dining area get dirty faster.

Same with the filters. I try to rinse them regularly, but it’s annoying to wait for one to dry before using the robot again. Having extras makes it easier to keep the X12 running without skipping cleaning days.

The regular cleaning solution is fine for daily runs, and the heavier duty one seems better for sticky or greasy areas.

Just sharing in case it helps someone who’s on the fence about getting spare parts.

Do you feel your robovac lasted long enough to justify the price?

I’m trying to decide how much it actually makes sense to spend on a robot vacuum.

We have two little kids at home, so the floor never stays clean for long. There are crumbs under the dining table, random sticky spots in the kitchen, hair, dust, and little messes that somehow come back five minutes after I clean.

I’ve been into Ecovacs models and I’m stuck between spending more on the X12 or going with a T-series model like the T90/T80S. The T series looks great for daily cleaning, and some of the specs are honestly strong enough that I wonder if it’s the smarter value pick.

The X12 is tempting because it seems to add more convenience around stain handling, roller mopping, faster top-ups during longer cleaning sessions. Feels like the kinda thing I barely have to think about once it’s set up.

For people who’ve owned robovacs long term, did paying more feel worth it over time, or mid-range models are more than enough?

Feature Suggestions

The GOAT series is already one of the most advanced robotic lawn mower platforms on the market. Between the onboard cameras, LiDAR mapping, AI object detection, autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and remote piloting capabilities, the hardware foundation already exists for something much bigger than lawn care alone.

What makes this especially exciting is that this would not require consumers to purchase a separate dedicated security robot rover.

People already need a lawn mower, why not get a 2-in-1?

ECOVACS is in a unique position to create the world’s first true “2-in-1” autonomous lawn care and perimeter awareness rover platform.

Instead of customers buying:
• A robotic lawn mower
AND
• A separate mobile security rover

…they could buy one device that intelligently performs both functions.

That changes the value proposition dramatically.

The GOAT mower already contains many of the exact technologies needed for residential perimeter awareness:
• Cameras
• AI vision systems
• LiDAR mapping
• Autonomous navigation
• Obstacle avoidance
• Remote driving capability
• Wireless connectivity
• Zone-based movement

The mower naturally moves throughout the property every day, already understands the terrain, already maps boundaries, and already navigates around obstacles autonomously.

That makes it uniquely positioned to become part of a modern smart-home security ecosystem.

For example:
If a Home Assistant and UniFi Protect system detects motion in a backyard blind spot, side yard, or fence line area, the GOAT could automatically deploy from its dock and navigate to predefined patrol waypoints for visual inspection.

This would allow homeowners to use the mower as:
• A robotic lawn mower during the day
• A low-profile perimeter inspection device after hours
• A mobile situational-awareness platform during alerts
• A remote inspection rover when needed

The brilliance of this concept is that it does not feel intrusive or unusual in a residential environment.

A robot mower moving through a yard appears normal. A dedicated security robot often does not.

That makes the GOAT platform uniquely valuable because it blends naturally into the property while quietly adding a second layer of utility and intelligence.

Another major opportunity would be exposing the onboard camera systems through standard protocols such as:
• ONVIF
• RTSP
• WebRTC

This would allow integration into:
• UniFi Protect
• Home Assistant dashboards
• Frigate NVR
• Synology Surveillance Station
• Blue Iris
• Third-party NVR systems

Imagine the possibilities:
• Fixed perimeter cameras detect motion
• The GOAT automatically deploys to investigate
• Its live video feed appears inside the UniFi Protect dashboard
• Recording activates only during active patrols
• Home Assistant dashboards display mower position, patrol state, and live video in real time

This would instantly transform the GOAT from:
“a robotic lawn mower”
into:
“an autonomous property management and security platform.”

A dedicated patrol lighting system would make this even more powerful.

The existing lighting may already assist with navigation, but adding:
• Adjustable flood lighting
• High-output illumination
• White/red/IR lighting modes
• API-accessible light controls

…would dramatically improve nighttime visibility for both the onboard cameras and remote operators.

This would allow the mower to illuminate:
• Fence lines
• Side yards
• Patio transitions
• Landscaping blind spots
• Gate entrances

while improving AI detection accuracy and nighttime visibility.

There is also enormous opportunity in the smart-home and Home Assistant communities.

Home Assistant users are known for building advanced automation ecosystems around devices that expose APIs and integration capabilities. If ECOVACS opened even limited developer access, the community would almost certainly create:
• Patrol automations
• Security integrations
• Mobile dashboard systems
• AI event workflows
• Advanced camera integrations
• Automated dispatch routines

Many smart-home and security enthusiasts would purchase the GOAT specifically because it offers dual-purpose functionality:
• lawn care
AND
• perimeter awareness

That creates a completely different purchasing mindset in increases the profits for ECOVACS tremendously.

Instead of justifying the cost of a premium mower, customers begin viewing it as:
• a lawn mower
• a mobile inspection platform
• a smart-home device
• a property awareness tool
• a security enhancement system

—all combined into a single platform they already needed anyway.

ECOVACS already built most of the hardware.

The next opportunity is enabling the ecosystem around it and positioning the GOAT not just as a robotic mower… but as the first mainstream autonomous dual-purpose lawn care and property awareness platform.

This idea is completely free for ECOVACS to explore and build upon and I don’t require any credit or money for it. I genuinely think this could open an entirely new category for the GOAT platform and drive a huge amount of interest from the smart-home, Home Assistant, and security communities.

That said… if this somehow turns into a real feature and helps sell a ton of units, I definitely wouldn’t complain about getting a GOAT mower sent my way for “testing purposes” lol.

After having Deebot T90 for about a month, I’d say…

I got the T90 Pro after we brought home a golden retriever puppy, since I was worried my toddler would crawl through dog hair and dust. After a month of daily runs, I'm happy with it so far. It does a really good job picking up dog hair, and there is hardly anything left on the brush, so I barely have to touch it. It mops well, and maintenance is also easy, since the base station handles most of it. I mostly just need to refill the water tank.

It does most of the cleaning for me. I also have to keep an eye on my dog and kids so they don’t get in the way of our little “housekeeper” while it’s cleaning. I don't understand why this is so interesting to them. My dog was even scared of it at first.

My only question is about the app’s consumable tracking. It shows wear levels for side brushes, filters, and mop pads and reminds me when they need replacing. Do you trust those reminders, or just replace them when they look worn?

Ecovacs T50 pro Omni mop washing tray malfunction

Got my vacuum 2 weeks ago and ever since i got it, it sometimes gives me that error. There is a pipelinecheck function on the app that tests the water pump and water drainage in the station. When the error is happening, the station doesnt dispense water.
I can fix it either by taking apart the station (the rear plastic plate) or by hitting the station on the side. I’m guessing it’s a water pump issue and I would need to replace it.
Any other ideas or advice? (Warranty is not an option)

ecovacs T90 pro omni - onboard dustbin issue.

Trying to see if anyone has come across this issue. The vacuums onboard bin is not filling up, it's only sticking to the HEPA filter. The unit thinks it's full and continues to go back to the base to empty it. I've had the unit for a week so I called Ecovacs help line and they are processing for a replacement unit after seeing this picture.

For people who own a Winbot, how much maintenance does it actually need?

Thinking about getting a Winbot mini 2 for my place, but I'm curious if there's any hidden maintenance stuff with them like there is with robot vacuums. When I decided to get a robot vacuum, I thought it was just a 'press a button' kind of thing, and then later realized you have to clean the brushes, wash the filters and trays, scrub the dirty water tanks, replace parts, and so on... Are Winbots kinda the same over time, or is the maintenance much simpler? From what I can tell, it seems like it's mostly just cleaning the pads and wiping down the robot... right? Or am I underestimating things again?

X12 (out of solution) (unit is offline)

Anyone else have this issue? I'm always getting an alert that the cleaning solutions are low (they are full) and unit keeps showing offline. I've already factory reset the unit twice and it's only 2 days old. It's so annoying.

GOAT O1000k RTK suddenly can't mow straight?

I've had this model for about 9 months now, never had issues with it mowing straight lines. This week I noticed the yard looked terrible with unmowed patches everywhere. I watched it mow for a few minutes and it won't go more than 1-2 feet in a straight line before turning in circles then heading another direction. I checked the spinning blade and it's clean with no obstructions. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'll include a pic of the unmowed patches

Can the X12 handle my oiled kitchen?

Hey, everyone. I really enjoy cooking for my family. It feels great to fill them up and see them happy. But I started to realize that I hadn't handled the kitchen properly after cooking.

The point is, my kitchen has dark-colored, textured anti-slip tile floors, so when oil or seasoning splatters, it’s hard to notice right away. This happens sometimes, and whenever I do spot them, some have already stuck to the floor, so I have to scrub hard with a mop, which’s exhausting. And even though I’ve told my kids to stop snacking in the living room or bedrooms, when I do a spring clean, I can still come across food crumbs in the rooms. I do worry it will attract little bugs and roaches.

I know I’ll have to get that under control. I do need to correct my kids' habits and I should also have a more powerful and smarter model to help me handle the cleaning work more timely and efficiently. My X2 is over two years old now, and I think it's time for an upgrade.

I’ve been eyeing the new Deebot X12. Anyone here used it? How’s the experience? Would it work for my situation? Appreciate any thoughts😁

House specs: 2300 sq ft, two stories. Kitchen is tile, living room mostly hardwood, upstairs is mainly carpet.

Yeedi M16 (T90) powerboost charging doesn't work after firmware update (v1.6 > v1.8)

I have a yeedi m16 Infinity- analogous to the Ecovacs T90. I just updated to fw 1.87 this morning. Now it is not powerboost charging.

It will return to base mid-clean, but it only charges at a normal rate, not the fast rate.

Does the firmware correlate with Ecovacs firmware? Have any of you T90 owners experienced the same issue?

How do I turn off the voice notifications?

Hello! I got the T90 Pro a few days ago and I'm pretty happy with it. I like the roller mop, it scrubs really well and spreads water evenly. I don't see any noticeable circular streaks like the old model did, which I definitely love. It also charges really fast, so I can do two passes without worrying about it stopping halfway. The only issue is that it talks pretty loudly. Do you guys actually use the voice assistant, like asking it to mop the kitchen or something? I feel like I don't really need it to tell me what it's doing. Can this be turned off?

Heavy duty cleaning solution

Will the Ecovacs WINBOT Mini 2 survive the gap in my frameless balcony glass?

As you can see, my balcony glass has a gap in the middle. I really doubt the robot can cross it, but can I at least trust it to detect the gap and not fall?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Ecovacs N50 pro omni 2 ( On Sale should I Buy)

Note -Im from india and have a 3000+sq apartment so there is a sale on amazon .

I have been looking to a robot vacuum from some time , i was initially going to buy n30 but i couldnt and now since the n50 released and is on sale im planning to buy it.

My only concern is cleaning solution , after sale service , any hardwater issue.

1)Ecovacs cleaning solution doesnt exists in india so are there any other i can use , but i would lose warranty ( if i dont use cleaning solution would there be any difference btw traditional mopping and the bot mopping)

  1. Every saying after sales service is shit but is it worth buying it tho.

  2. Can i use drinking water instead of tap water.

Are third party dust bags safe?

Hi everyone. I own a deebot t50 pro omni gen2. Since the original dust bags are a bit expensive, I was wondering if it would be safe to use third party dust bags (compatible ofc). But im not sure if this will damage the robot or the station in the long run. What do you guys think?
