Observations from my first IoH playthrough

I have been generally enjoying the fact that this game is challenging in terms of stamina management, the freshness/quality mechanics, the water/sun points, managing relationships and time to make sure no one moves out, and the sheer amount of upgrades you can do on your farm and the island. As an adult player, I don’t hate the extra challenge at all. I also don’t find the use of the stylus toooo annoying, except…

BRUSHING YOUR ANIMALS. If the horse decides to move while I’m using my brush I’ve wasted precious stamina points.

My other main observation/pondering is: is Regis a vampire?

Aside from that it’s taking forever to get heart points up for marriage so that’s annoying.

I can’t wait to discuss IoH with you all. I know it’s a polarizing entry but I’m quite enjoying it!

Is currently on sale for $1.19 USD in eShop! Please sway me one way or the other; I don’t usually purchase cosmetic DLC but it’s soo cheap

What are we playing this weekend?

I’m finishing my second full playthrough of Save the Homeland- the final ending I’m doing is Treasure Hunt II. I wanted something relaxing and familiar this spring! Then I’m planning on switching to Island of Happiness for ~summer vibes~

Thinking about regifting her Mother’s Day gift card to myself.

Taking back a gift from someone is poor form- something I have never done to anyone else in my life. But this Mother’s Day will mark the second time my mother has been so rude about a gift that I’m tempted. The first time (several years ago) I was going to get her a gift card for an experience that she would have enjoyed, but this wasn’t good enough for The National Holiday that was her birthday, and she told me she didn’t want it. I told her if she was going to be rude she would get nothing instead and made good on that.

There haven’t been issues with her not accepting gifts in the past couple years but today she told me that she was “all set” with the gift I was offering (which now that I think about it, I’ve taken to offering before purchasing because of her reactions and not wanting to waste my money) and that I should already know what she wants and where she shops.

So I impulsively rage sent her a generic gift card. Then I thought why am I wasting money on someone so ungrateful? I could use this. It’s not like she’ll learn anything from me NOT taking it back and being generous despite her behavior.

Would you repo the gift card?

I can’t be the only one who finds it a little hard to keep straight all the editions and DLC with games these days, or can I?😂

I have gen 1 switch and am not a fan of digital content but also pretty minimalist. I am intrigued by the art book and soundtrack but I don’t see value in having the other bonuses (collectible box, poster, plush) and storage space is at a premium for me. So I’m torn between just buying the physical base game vs the physical premium edition (and getting the trunk of transformation when it’s on sale if I feel like it) or buying the super digital deluxe version with soundtrack, art book, and trunk of transformation included.

Can anyone who has the soundtrack and art book comment on whether they feel it’s worth it? If it’s digital, how is the ease of access? I don’t think a separate streaming app on my Switch would get used a lot and it sounds like this is where the soundtrack goes? Also, am I correct in saying that the “new you” outfit set isn’t included in any of the base game options and I would just have to purchase that separately if I wanted it?

Thanks in advance to this lovely sub!
