How do you guys retain what you listen to

Hey guys, I’ve been struggling with retaining what I listen to, and Make It Stick by Peter C. Brown taught me that active recall is one of the best ways to actually remember what you learn.

I couldn’t find a simple way to do this with the books I was listening to, so I ended up building a tool for myself that turns books into recall questions you can answer. I’ve been using it after listening to an audiobook, and it’s helped me notice how much I thought I understood but couldn’t actually recall.

Curious if anyone else here uses active recall for books and what your process looks like to actually retain the information that you read instead of wasting time.

Also do any of you guys struggle with this or is it just me? Also when listening to an audio book and are confused on a point do you rewind the audio, pause it, or do something else?

Also just finished reading Financial Intelligence by Karen Berman and Joe Knight thought it was great. Anybody have good suggestions on Business books that are technical?

I've read books like The Success Principles The Success Principles by Jack Canfield (best self help book in the world imo) etc
