I thought you guys said this was a Survival Horror game!

I thought you guys said this was a Survival Horror game!

LOOK AT'EM. HE'S JUST A LIL GUY.

Okay, so I'm glad I decided to keep giving Shadow Tower a chance, because this little dude just made the game for me. Plus, I think I'm finally figuring out how the game wants me to play. VERY cautiously, and with Shields Up like Elite Knight taught me.

Thank you all for helping me with KF2 [US]!

Ugghhhh, why didn't I think of using the stone there?! Well, at least I was able to get the good ending (Thanks Verdite Cat!). And what a good ending it was. Though....that voice-over could've been handled better lol. Also, I did NOT expect Seath to look like....that lol.

Also, is it just me, or are the knights leading up the king the inspiration for the knights in DS3? The statues in that area for DS3, specifically, made me go "oh, man, so they're like the prototype idea for them"

Time for another short break, and then on to Shadow Tower!

Edit: Actually, never mind on Shadow Tower. From the hour I just played the game feels way too janky and way too obtuse. Also the fact the game has to load everytime you switch shields and weapons. The atmosphere and tech feels pretty incredible, though. Maybe I'll give it another shot later, but for now, it's a bit too jarring to go from a fantastic game to a janky one.

[Spoilers] Final few questions on KF2 [US]

Alright, I've technically beaten the game, but got the bad end, and for the life of me, I can't think of where to go or what to do to get the good end. I know in the bad end it says my vitality wasn't strong enough, do you have to be a certain level? I'm level 38. I have the Ichrius Armor. My Exellator is on its 3rd form. I've talked to Alexander to get what I guess was Sword Magic. I've got the Royal Key, the Evil Ring, the Phantom Crown, and the Luster Wing.

- Where do you restore the Moonlight Greatsword?

- What is the Fairy Fossil for?

- Is there anything besides Seath's Sword to be found in the Royal Graveyard? (THAT PART WAS SO COOL)

- I went all the way down into the final boss area of the Royal Graveyard but can't seem to make the gap to where that doorway is on the other side of the chasm. Is there something there?

Help with King's Field 2 [US]

I am at a loss on where to go. I'm stuck at the Lake before Coram. I have the boots that let you walk on the magic bridge over the water, but it only goes to one little island. The lady that says she can let me into the area that moves the bridges says she'll let me in if I give her "the medicinal herb." But where is said herb? Is it the red herb I gave to the kid? I saw Leon was watering some plants, is it one of those?

Also, please tell me there's more than two Orladin Keys.

Eyyyyy, we did it! [King's Field US]

Thanks to everyone's help, I beat it! I appreciate everyone's answers on my questions. I gotta ask, though, is there multiple endings? I feel like you get to fight Seath too, and I never got to. I also didn't get the final forms of each branch of magic either lol.

Oh my god, that final boss fight took me a while to figure out. If he's vulnerable to magic, it sure didn't seem that way. Oh well, some dodging and slashing, some healing and shielding, Guyra wasn't that bad at all in the end.

Time for a small break, and onward to Pilot Style!

[Late Game Spoilers] Couple more questions about King's Field [US]

Pretty sure I'm near the end of the game, since I've made it to the fight with Dias.

- Am I supposed to have the Moonlight Greatsword already? The Homunculi in the tubes mention "the sword and the magic"

- I have the Shrine Keys, but I keep falling down the pit. What is this "the door will open when the warriors stand up"?

- Is there any way to save Gigi's dad? It doesn't say he's dead but doesn't let me really interact with him.

Couple Questions about King's Field [US]

  • Are clear crystals just used for selling?

  • Is magic obtained in a linear fashion? As in, no matter what Fire Crystal I find, the first one I use will always learn me Fireball?

  • Does the Giant Kraken just have a million HP or is he like weak to Magic or something?

  • Is it worth it to buy the Gold, Silver, and Magician's key early on?

For retro PC games, can WinXP handle most games?

On actual hardware, I mean. From what I remember XP was able to play early 2000s games and DOS games rather easily. I'm mostly wondering if there's much point in having a dedicated 95 and 98 machine?

I've considered getting a Mister device for a while now, but I'm curious about something. I have a CRT, but its got some pretty bad color bleed that I can't seem to fix. So right now, I'm stuck using an HD monitor as a screen for my games. But I really enjoy what a CRT can do for the visuals, which is why I usually emulate on RetroArch with a CRT shader that uses an NTSC emulated signal. Does the Mister have ways to look like CRT shaders? Or does it maybe use some of the RetroArch shaders?

I like the art, I like the music, but the gameplay so far has been incredibly dull and the maps feel pretty bland. Battles feel so mindless, I usually just Auto Battle everything. Boss fights feel like they're just a test to see if you brought enough Herbs to survive.

Maybe I'm not that far into the game and it picks up decently if I keep on going? I'm only level 8 and at the 2nd boss fight. Please tell me the game gets better. Do I ever learn magic? Do I ever get to learn something that cures me of poison (because I absolutely HATE poison bugs)? When do I get more party members?

Man, it sure was fun to see "oh, so that's where Dark Souls got the idea" all over the game. I went from an initial "Will I even enjoy this?" to Absolutely Hooked within about 2 hours into the game. I love how the game just gives you the slightest bits and pieces to figure your way through the game and constantly teases you with "oh, man, how do I get in here/how do I open that/how do I get THAT chest?"

I will say though that the last two floors of the game are literally hell, and I hate them lol. I hate the music, I hate the maze-like build, and I hated every second of "SHIT, I MIGHT DIE, RUN." Also the final boss fight....did I miss something? Spoiler warning to all that haven't beaten it yet...

Is magic the only way to fight the boss, or is there anyway at all to use the Moonlight Sword?
