Comparing pharm schools to get into industry/hospital

I just wanna know between these 2 schools, Midwestern University Pharmacy (Arizona) vs Chapman University (California) which one gives a higher chance of getting into industry? I heard some fellowships view certain schools as more favorable. Chapman is more local than Midwestern, however the tuition for Midwestern is lower ($216k vs $292k). I added hospital because I’m not sure if i want to do hospital or not in the future

Considering nursing or pharmacy

I am doing a career change and was considering ABSN vs pharmD. Both are completely different i know, but those are my current choices. A bit concerned due to the difficulty in getting a job in nursing (SoCal area). I have almost 4 years of some medical experience (MA). Pay for pharmacy is decent but sacrificing a few more years. Thoughts?

Job market outside CA?

I haven’t started nursing school yet, just wanted to see what is out there! I’m in SoCal, as everyone knows is hard to get a job as a new grad. Once i graduate i would consider moving out of state like Washington (preferably near Seattle), Texas, Oregon, Illinois, or even New Jersey. Are the job market in those states as bad as CA too or is it a bit better?

Unsure due to school’s NAPLEX and MPJE pass rate

I was accepted to an accelerated 3 year program but the 2024 NAPLEX first time taking pass rate is 66.7% and the MPJE is 66.7%. A little concerned of the pass rates so I’m thinking of not doing this program and pivoting to something completely different

update: the 2025 passing rate is 80.4%, and MPJE is 80%

Any alumni’s that go for higher education, specifically CRNA?

I’m considering going to WCU for nursing (already have prereqs done) but I know that I want to pursue higher education. I know many nurses go on to do NP, which WCU offers as well, but are there any prior alumni from WCU who get into CRNA? Just wanted to know my options for the future just in case

Pros to pharmacy?

I have the opportunity to do a career change and am debating between pharmacy vs nursing. I hear/read the cons of both all the time, but I’m interested in hearing pros for pharmacy? If i go this route, i plan to do PGY1 and 2!

Differences between WCU Cali campus?

I received an email that the OC campus is full now for the upcoming start date and am considering changing to the Ontario campus. Are there any pros/cons to either campuses in terms of connections/better job opportunities?

Career switch?

I graduated undergrad as a premed with my bachelors but didn’t work hard enough. I’ve been working as a MA and scribe for 3.5 years now so i have some healthcare experience. I’m now thinking of a career change either to nursing (ABSN 2 years) or pharmacy (3 years). I have been in contact with a dean where they said people who complete their 1 year masters program can get into the pharmacy program and complete it in 3 years. Both sound ok to me, however 1. I’ve never worked as a pharmacy tech and 2. I heard AI may take over in the soon to be future. At this point i just want to make decent money to afford living in Southern California. Thoughts if pharm is a better option?

Nursing stigma?

I was recently talking about WCU with a friend whose mom is in nursing. Apparently her mom said that when they get new hires at the hospital from WCU, the nurses dislike them/think they’re not smart. I’ve never heard of this before and I thought even though WCU takes mostly everyone, you still have to be smart to get through the courses/NCLEX in the end. I haven’t started yet at WCU but it makes me a little concerned for the future/job opportunities if they don’t really like WCU graduates

Wanting to sign up for level 1 certification

I’m planning to start school soon, so I wanted to quit my regular 9-5 and be a lagree instructor part time/per diem. I found a place near me that is offering someone teaching for level 1 certifications, however the total cost is $2500 with the opportunity to audition for that studio. I wanted to know if that price seems about right before I sign up

Housing with Loans?

How are people able to afford housing near the OC campus? I’ve been trying to find a room, but they’re all pretty expensive. Do people typically take out loans for schooling and housing?

I recently bought both styles of pants in one color (Isabel wide leg and Kade cargo). I love both, but is it weird to keep 2 types of pants for 1 shirt? Typically I only have a pair of each color. The only pro to this is that I’d be getting some money back if I return one
