U1 in the UK?

My bf is in Scotland, and I’m in the US. I’m the hobbyist.

We’ve decided to get a 3d printer for his flat for when I visit. I think the U1 will be perfect for our use case since it will be mostly PETG or TPU (we’re both hikers and I want to make a few stuff for our next trip). I already have a couple U1 in the States and they’re so far my favorite printers.

Neither one of us knows how to acquire one online, though, or which stores are reputable. In the US, I order online or go to Microcenter. Are there equivalents in the UK? I can only find the Snapmaker EU store online. Does a UK store even exist?

Stand/organizer for U1

I’m about to finish this for my U1, but I’m a little nervous. It’s all PETG with 4 to 6 walls (I forgot to reset the wall number on a couple printers).

Has anyone used something like this? How long have you used it? Any issues? Anything else I need to do to make it sturdier? There’s a plate holder that will be on top and will be directly under the printer. Everything will be glued down.

I might print corner pieces for the rear, for extra support.

Top layer blemishes

My top surfaces are not smooth. They have these raised areas on the top. Not really sure which setting I need to tweak. This happens to my two U1, so I’m assuming it’s a slicer setting. The X1C is smooth (second pic) and I think they’re identical Quality settings as much possible (Bambu Studio and Snorca don’t have all the same fields).

Please help.

PETG, 0.4 nozzle, adaptive cubic 10% infill, 5 top layers, top surface flow ratio = 1

Is it the top surface flow ratio? I only just noticed that now and I don’t think Studio has that field.

Where do I get a new touchscreen?

To recap: my printer arrived with a damaged screen, and Anycubic punted me over to Seel instead of just doing a warranty replacement.

My unhappy “resolution” involves getting a 20% refund from Seel and I have to figure out how to get a new screen myself. Anycubic has been unresponsive. Not really sure what to do at this point since I can’t find replacement screens on their website. I kinda hate both companies right now.

Hiking north to south every other town

Is there any downside at all? Lodging issues are making me consider staying in the same town for a couple nights and taking a taxi to the next town to continue the hike. It’s only for Rowardennan and Kingshouse really since I’m having a hard time getting any lodging in those towns. So for example hike to Rowardennan, taxi back to Balmaha, then taxi to Rowardennan the next morning and continue walking.

Damaged screen on new printer :(

I received my new S1 Max Combo a few days ago and finally set it up today. Watched the unboxing video etc. Turned the power on and saw the cracked screen.

Is this an easy fix? I paid for the extra insurance whatever it’s called when I checked out. Is this covered?

Asking here since support is closed right now. I’m also a little bummed. I’m not a total newbie and have bought a few printers before (I have a couple X1C, a P1S, and a couple Snapmaker U1 plus a few Creality printers). None of those ever arrived with a damaged screen so this is new to me.
