Recorded live in 1995 by Rod Modell (two years prior to starting Deepchord), and Chris Troy and assembled in a small dark room in the basement of WSGR radio 91.3 FM, Port Huron Michigan and broadcast and recorded direct from the radio station console. This cd was originally released on Kim Cascone's Silent records in February 1996. Nocturnal drone music created with a sprawling array of tape-loops, analog effects, modular synthesizers, 1980's samplers, alien shortwave radios, and field recordings made during peak-periods of paranormal

activity. These sounds take on a majestic beauty and magic with repeated listens.

Another band categorized ambient back in the day. Is it ambient?

I think so. Ambient isnt just Brian Eno. Many genres of ambient exist. Categories today complicate things more and go outside of why they exist in the first place. Is new age ambient ? Why not. I think the Categories belong to the listener not the industry pushing them.

A challenge to your community. Is this Ambient? Do the mods justify a track as Ambient based off how it's categorized by the industry or by the way it sounds?

A bit of a long shot. But back in the 90s categories were more fluid and this could be considered ambient. The album is technically industrial but this track has droning elements and some Ambient characteristics in my opinion. .. what say you?

Album Mysterium by hammock. typo in title. music video i made while in Peten Guatemala. This was recorded on a lake close to Tikal , and the mayan temples. I left my camera out and videod the sunrise .I felt this hammock track fit perfectly. I swear the drums and other background sounds were not added by me. The brids and animal sounds are genuine. I have no idea where the drumming originated from. If you recognize the beat let me know maybe I picked it up somehow ??? But other than that i don't know where they came from or how they ended up on this recording. This is literally a house in an jungle isolated . Everyone else was asleep but me. (Truly) Take it how you choose but I can't explain it. Enjoy
