Does my site look like ai slop?

Hi everyone,

I've been working on trackacert.io for a few months now, and to be upfront I have been using AI to help with frontend design.

I'm aware that AI has a certain template and look that makes it feel somewhat copy and paste - I've been trying my best to avoid this while still takign advantage of AI.

Your honest thoughts, does the homepage look like ai slop?

Feedback appreciated.

PS5 - replaced PSU, keeps tripping

Hi everyone,

A few days my PS5 died, no warnings and no sign of life at all (new power lead, fuses and sockets tried). Could not get a sign of life for 2 days.

I replaced the PSU today with a suitable spare (100% correct for the PS5 model), and at first we had life!!

PS5 was back to normal, however after about 40 minutes, with no warnings, the PS5 just died and is refusing to turn back on?

Any ideas? Seems like a motherboard issue to me that is causing the PSU to power itself down.

Thank you.

I built a free tool to track IT certifications

To be clear upfront, while this tool is and always will be completely free, no 'freemium' or any of that crap, it is not yet open source

For the last few months I have been working on a tool aimed towards helping IT professionals and organisations track their IT certifications. If you have some spare time, I would really appreciate some feedback.

The problem I kept seeing in my work: my managers juggling spreadsheets to track who holds what cert across a large team, when it expires, and whether the team actually has coverage across the skills they need. Renewals get missed. Gaps go unnoticed.

TrackACert.io lets individuals log their certs and get email reminders at 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry. For teams and organisations, you get a shared directory of who holds what, plus a skill gap view that shows where your coverage is thin.

While there are websites such as Credly that are purely for storing certifications, we aim to provide that deeper insight.

Again, I'd really appreciate any feedback.

Thank you.

Portable AC Unit in store from tomorrow - any good?

Just seen this going in store tomorrow, and it looks like a good price if its a proper portable ac unit.

While I appreciate it wouldn't cool a large room, would this be ok for a small room?

Thanks

Edit: for that one guy saying this is fake / click bait- below is a link to the official lidl leaflet about whats in store from 25/06. Theres always that one guy..

Best AI for heavy frontend web design?

I've used Claude Opus in the past, however I quickly realise front end web design always seem to have a similar feel, despite the prompt.

Currently what is the best AI, regardless of token use, for front end web design - to create something unique and not just more 'ai copy and paste slop'. I'm talking 3D designs etc.

Thank you.

HustleFinder.com appraisal?

Thinking about selling HustleFinder.com and looking for opinions on value.

I’ve got it listed at around $4k, but I know that is very optimistic. Despite this, it feels like a solid brandable for side hustles, freelancing, jobs, startups, etc.

What would you realistically list it at?

Using a VPN to buy Disney/Universal tickets?

Hi,

Me and my partner are looking at visiting next year from the UK and for some reason in the UK we are quite restricted to only being able to buy Disney and Universal tickets for 14 days. We only want to attend for 1 or 2 days max.

If I use a VPN to the US, I can get access to the day tickets that in the UK we don't have access to buying.

If I purchase these, is anyone aware of any issues this could cause?

To clarify, we're not trying to game the system or do some trick, we just don't want to spend the extra on 14 day tickets, when we will only be there for 1 or 2.

Thanks

Lastminute.com not offering any refund?

Hi,

Myself and my partner last month booked a holiday in July totally around £1.2k.

I am currently in the armed forces, and because of this we purchased 'flexi' which should allow me for free cancellation if needed.

Well now I'm being deployed over that period I'm looking at cancelling the trip, however on the portal and live chat I am being told they can cancel the trip but absolutely no money will be refunded.

The trip is due to be over a month away, mid July.

Any advice please?
Thanks.
