Help with job prediction

I did graduation and masters in electronics, never worked in the field because.... there are not many high paying jobs at least in major parts of the world. I am trying to enter into tech fields( software/IT). I have data engineering skills but no experience. so my question is since the job market is not welcoming freshers, also given the volatility in the market and changing roles what skills can a person learn and what roles can they try their luck?
