I've been wearing glasses since Grade 4 and I've always dreamed of a glasses-free existence. My prescription is -7 and I've always hated how my eyes look smaller behind glasses. And I've always found contacts quite uncomfortable.

My friends started getting LASIK over the past few years - one of them being an optician. It sounded awesome.

In 2023 I decided to go for it. I went to my optometrist and got a full exam to send to a highly-rated LASIK clinic out of town. Booked a hotel for a few nights. Arrived at the clinic with my husband, was super nervous. Went through all the questions and tests and if everything was good I would have got the procedure done that same afternoon.

But after the tests, the doctor pulled me into a private room. He said my pupil test (where they put you in a dark room and measure how much your pupil expands) measured about 7-8mm (I can't remember the exact number). He said his personal cut-off was 0.5mm under mine because he doesn't want to risk night-driving complications. He said my high prescription would also mean they need to take *a lot* of corneal tissue and that can also cause complications. He said the bigger LASIK practices would take me no problem but it was out of his comfort zone.

I cried when he told me that, I was so mentally prepared for this and it felt like a massive let-down. When I got home, all my friends were telling me to just go somewhere else to do it. But then I started looking at this subreddit and slowly realized I had dodged a huge bullet. If I would've gone to one of those big LASIK chains instead I would likely be dealing with issues, maybe not right away but eventually. So thank you all for sharing your stories here, it really made me appreciate that I went to a doctor with principals who actually turned me away.

Rhubarb definitely likes exploring the bed best, he's a blankie guy through and through. He'll wander around tongue-flicking and peeking his head over the edge for ages.

He also likes the couch but often finds a comfy spot to wedge and settles down quickly. He seems a little intimidated exploring our office desks and he's quite spooked outside in the grass or in his playpen on the back deck. Nature sounds are scary!

No one else in my life does spin classes so I have no one to gush about how thrilled I am lol!

I've been doing spin classes for about 2 years now, it's absolutely my happy place and such amazing stress relief.

I finally decided to splurge on my own shoes and I got to try them out in class tonight and wow! Perfect snug fit, great firm cushioning, nice tight cleats. They felt unbelievable on the bike, especially compared to the studio shoes that have definitely been worn in from hundreds and hundreds of uses. One of my ankles had started getting sore during class and I chalked it up to the lack of arch support in the used shoes.

I'm really happy I decided to go with Tiem, they're pricey but I think I deserve an upgrade!!

Hi friends! I'm visiting London for the first time soon while my husband attends a conference. I'm a big DDR fan (since I was a teen) and I'm always on the hunt for a machine when I travel. Does anyone know for sure if there is a DDR/StepmaniaX machine (not Pump It Up) in any arcades in London? I know there are arcades but they don't often list their machines. Thanks kindly!
