(This happened last September; posting it now because I was cleaning out the photos on my phone)
(Trigger Warnings: death, guns, heaven/hell)
Backstory: I was a christian up until my sophomore year of college (went on a summer mission trip, led a bible study, etc.). My best friend at the time from kindergarten is also christian, which made us always pretty close. We stayed in the same friend group throughout high school and even went to the same college.
Even when I was a christian, I always voted democrat in elections. When Trump got elected the first time back in 2016, that’s when I stopped being a follower of christ (about the only good thing that came from Trump’s presidency). It made me realize that I shouldn’t be worried about eternal damnation when we have many christians believing a racist and sexual predator like Trump are christ-like and going to heaven. It wasn’t until the 2nd Trump presidency that I actually became more vocal about it.
Back in September after Charlie Kirk’s death, I noticed all of my christian friends shared posts about Kirk being a “good and faithful servant to god and that god is welcoming him home in heaven.” They never shared anything about all of the school children being g!nned down in school and the mass sho0tings, which pissed me off. So I shared a video on my instagram story of a recording of Charlie Kirk saying some gun d3aths are necessary for the right to carry a gun. I also wrote on my story that anyone who has been expressing sadness about Kirk’s death but never at any of the school sho0tings is a shit christian.
I then received the following message from my friend who basically said all lives matter and she’s praying for me. She then unfriended me.
I’m just so sick and tired of christians acting shitty, and then when you call them out on it, they either gaslight you or deflect and then act sanctimonious by saying they’re praying for you to know god’s love.
