Is doing first year AUT engineering and then transfering to UOA engineering/engineering conjoint second year doable?

Since UOA engineering is harder to get in, I wonder if doing this is possible and if all first year credits can be transferred from AUT to UOA to just enter the UOA's second year. Of course try to get AUT's first year grades as good as possible.

What should I do if I can't transfer into Engineering/ CS or Engineering at UoA?

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling pretty anxious at the moment and would really appreciate some advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

I have finished 1 year of computer science at UoA, and l discovered that I'm quite obsessed with engineering during this year of studying, and I really wish I can transfer to Engineering/CS conjoint programme or Engineering programme. I genuinely love engineering. I've felt like this is what I want to spend my life doing. I don't see the point of my life without studying and doing engineering.

The problem is that I know Engineering has limited places, and I'm worried I might not be offered one because I think my GPA is not the strongest for the UA's grade-based selection system to guarantee a place for me, which is because I spent much time building engineering-related projects instead of focusing solely on computer science coursework.

Some options I've thought about are:

  1. Stay in Computer Science at UoA, take as many hardware-related papers as possible, and self-learn the engineering topics that aren't covered.
  2. Going to AUT to study Engineering instead.
  3. Applying again later if possible, however, this can end up wasting much more time and money.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? If you couldn't get into Engineering at UoA, what did you end up doing?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Fusion 360 group project read-only access problem

So my team added me to their Fusion 360 group project on Autodesk Team Hub. They confirmed I have Editor permissions. And yet… I can’t edit a single thing.

Everyone else on the team made their Autodesk account directly with their university email and got their Education license that way. But I used my personal email for my Autodesk account, then applied for the Education license through that. So my edu license lives on my personal-email account, not my uni-email account.

My theory: maybe Fusion 360 is doing some kind of license/account verification when joining a team project, and since my teammates are all on uni-email Autodesk accounts, there’s a mismatch somewhere that’s downgrading me to read-only.

I can try creating a fresh Autodesk account with my uni email and migrating everything over, but that feels like a lot of effort if it’s not actually the root cause. Like, shouldn’t the Education license be valid regardless of which email it’s registered under?

Has anyone hit this before? Is the personal vs. uni email thing actually the culprit, or is there something else I’m missing?
