New to internal routing, how can I set up/do I need a new stem (2024 Giant Advanced Pro)
Just got a new-to-me frameset and I want to run my trusty Ultegra 6800 2x11 groupset on it. I was able to route the brake lines without trouble, but I can't figure out how the hell I'm supposed to route shifter lines through the body.
These appear to be false ports, they have holes that are shifter cable-sized but are shut?
I figure this means my system is semi-integrated. I have an aftermarket FSA K-wing bar and an FSA S-LK SCR stem that came with its own spacers. The bike also came with this pack of spacers that don't make sense to me:
Right now I have the bike held together like this because it's the closest thing that makes sense:
I'm not riding this, I just live in a small NYC apartment and want to keep it kinda clean
Any guidance would be helpful; I'm truly stumped here and I can't find Giant guides to explain this build. I know I'm trying to a lot of round things in the square hole (it seems Giant designed this frame for electronic groupsets, but they built the exact same lower-spec Revolts where those front ports worked) but I want to make it work if I can.
My bike top cap is broken, it's a proprietary design from the manufacturer (Canyon for the bike gang here). They don't have it in stock on their site; if have to buy a stem for the new cap. With shipping it'd be $70 for on other brands is a universal part.
However, some king made a replacement cap file and uploaded it under Creative Commons. I checked with BPL and their site isn't clear about where/when I can get certified to use their machines. If anyone with a printer is willing to make one for me, it'd be amazing!
Just did a 40 mile ride on my new-to-me Grail AL 7 after buying it in the winter. I'm surprised about the ride of this thing, it felt so squirrelly with any wind (especially crosswinds), but even hitting 20 mph on a gentle descent made me reach for the brakes. It feels skittish, like it's sailing off the ground. I had no confidence pushing.
I bought it second hand and it came with a set of Fulcrum 800s, approximately 34mm deep. I was riding a heavy Diamondback Haanjo with low-profile stock wheels. Running Panaracer SS 40s on each at about 45 psi. Headset is tight and wheels are not loose.
Is this how this bike is supposed to feel? Or should I look at lower profile wheels?
