Standard of comedy is really high this year. I've enjoyed loads of shows, Jamie Wolf, Lil Wenker, Spencer Jones stand out, but my favourite so far is Elf Lyons. It a combination of stand-up, theatre, performance art, multi-media. It's everything and it's got everything. You heard it here first. Here's a review.

I'm reviewing shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and after one week the best new young American comedian is Jamie Wolf. He's a real classic stand-up, smart and sharp with shades of Denis Leary. And he;s got a great, chilling story about being put in a psychiatric ward and not being able to get out when he wanted to leave. Here's a Review.

Revealing interview from Goldstein just when he was moving into acting but before Ted Lasso.

I'm wondering if this might be US comic Gianmarco Soresi's breakthrough year at the Edinburgh Fringe. I saw him in London in 2025 and he was fantastic. Interview with him here. https://beyondthejoke.substack.com/p/classic-interview-gianmarco-soresi

Not sure why Tom Stade isn't more famous. He's a master of stand-up. Catch him in Edinburgh this August or whenever he comes to your town
