To replace or not replace the transmission?
I have a 2021 Soul GT with the dual clutch transmission. I’m the second owner and It has 45k miles on it. The transmission has been ok, a few knocks and thumps along the way but it’s gotten much, much worse. It grinds horribly when I first start accelerating, like you’re trying to drive a stick shift without using the clutch. Take your foot off the gas, let the rpm’s wind down and start again and it’s fine. Runs perfect while driving. It has no other issues and has been a great car! I took it to the dealer and they said the transmission is shot, I need a replacement. Warranty expired in March. I tried for a goodwill repair but it was denied. 😡 So the question is should I replace the transmission. It would be a factory remanufactured with a 12/12,000 warranty. I love the car, it’s paid for, and I hoped I could drive it for years. Have any of you had the same model, experience, did you replace the transmission, and how did it go for you?
