Car won't go into Drive or Reverse

Had an odd one yesterday. We were going out and so I unlocked the car, got in and then pressed the ignition button with foot on the brake. All the electrics and dash came on as normal. However, when I turned the knob to reverse, it stuck in neutral, and it didn't respond when I put it in drive.

It then wouldn't switch off and obviously not lock when I got out of the car. Tried again after about 4 hours and it worked perfectly. It is also ok today.

Anyone else had this issue.

The car is booked in for diagnostics next week.

Looking at EDF from Octopus

I've just got a quote from EDF for their Go Electric tariff. I've got an EV and just installed Solar. We moved at the end of March to a smaller house and use gas for central heating and hot water. I've used the data from our previous house for the quote.

The numbers I've crunched give the £47 and £45 per month for EDF and Octopus respectively. EDF's quote is just under £90 per month.

Question. Can I alter the rate after switching and how easy is it to go on the Smart charge and get the £5/month rebate which would make EDF cheaper?

Solar install

We're having our solar installed tomorrow. We've got an EV with Hypervolt charger and on IOG. I've seen posts on here saying do not connect the charger to the solar so it doesn't start charging with any excess.

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Leaking into the hall.

We moved into our house just before Easter. There was a mark on the hall ceiling which we were told was historical when the bath overflowed.

I then found out that the mark was actually a hole and there has been a steady, very slow drip when the shower has been running. I've cut a hole in the ceiling and can feel a drop of water on the waste, but am concerned that the trap hasn't been connected correctly. I can feel rubber on the underside. Thoughts?
