Always biting

Always biting

My baby hog is so bitey 😭 and i know they’re notoriously sassy but he RARELY hisses or bluff strikes and he’s never played dead. I got him two weeks ago and I’ve only handled him when absolutely necessary (moving him too clean his water, and transferring him into his cage) but every time, without a doubt he’ll decide to munch on me. Even after I lather myself in hand sanitizer so I don’t smell appetizing. The first two times I pushed a little on his nose and he let go immediately but this last time I was wearing a bite proof glove in anticipation and he hung on for like 10 minutes! Today is feeding day so idk if that’s why? Even reaching in there to move him he wasn’t hissy and was just looking around but as soon as I got him up he latched on. I tried pushing in his nose and putting a swab of rubbing alcohol by his nose but he didn’t give up. He’s very good at eating and has eaten his food within 5 minutes of me putting it in the cage but I think the pinkies are a little small so I’m moving him to fuzzies next week.

Is he just dumb? Is he hungry all the time? Is it a defence mechanism? How can I prevent him from biting me!!

2 pinkies?

This is my new baby, I got him about a week ago and he’s eaten great since! He ate one pinkie 5 days ago and I gave him another today but he’s been slithering around the food dish and going inside it like he’s still hungry. Should I offer him another pinkie? I need to weigh him still but I was going to wait two weeks before getting him out.

Stuck shed?

This is my new baby Winston, I picked him up three days ago and I’ve noticed this patch on the top of his head. I’m pretty sure it’s just some stuck shed but I need some confirmation before I keep worrying about it!!

He has already eaten with no issue, is active around his cage, and only hissed at me once so he’s not too upset about whatever it is

Can’t decide!

Hello! I’ve really been wanting a Hognose but I just can’t decide if I should get a male or female 😭 I have a ball python, two cresties, and a whites tree frog already. I also have a 40 gal long enclosure that my bp was in before I upgraded him to 120 gal that I am planning on using for a hog if I get one.

Is either gender more likely to musk or be especially spicy? Is either more likely to have health problems? If anyone has experience with both genders and can help me pick one that would be the best fit it would be greatly appreciated!!!

First time reptile owner and need some advice!

This is my baby whites tree frog enclosure. I got him about a week ago and have been feeding him small Dubai roaches daily. I have a mushroom ledge coming in the mail for him to perch on. Is his cage looking good or is there anything else I should add? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
