24 hours on Venlafaxine 75mg 🥵

Hi all, as the title says I had my first dose of Venlafaxine last night, I've had the boxes for some time but put off taking it till now.

I have been on Sertraline in the past and didn't like how it made me feel, slightly odd feeling, can’t describe it, lost my libido, it helped but it was strange.

Anyway after taking my first 75mg dose of Venlafaxine last night I've woke to have my usual morning routine of masturbation and couldn't hard, semi at best, unpredicted but nothing was happening.

I've also started sweating, I feel really clammy.

I'm worried that this is how I'm going to feel everyday going forward? Does the sweating stop?
Also I was under the impression that Venlafaxine had less of an effect on libido than sertraline?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Does anyone know about this REME cockerel?

I have found a treasure trove of my grandfathers WW2 belongings. He was in North Africa as a REME and this is the front cover of a Christmas Day menu.

I’m wondering if anyone has any info on this cockerel?

It’s in the front cover of a menu and wonder if it’s a mascot of the newly formed REME?

Can’t open the yellow lock?

Bought these two £3 locks today from different budget stores, I assume that are identical just with different brands on them. I can get the blue one open in seconds from the off, I’ve had it open 10 times so far.

However I can’t get the yellow one open at all, a little bit of movement but that’s it. I’ve tried top of the key way, bottom of key way, rakes, picks, nothing.

Any ideas where I’m going wrong?

This little fecker is keeping me awake at night!

Hi all, I’ve been picking for a few months, due to costs I’ve only got about 7 padlocks, I’ve opened some but this is the one I can get absolutely nowhere with.

Where would this padlock be on a scale of difficulty. To me it’s a pro padlock but it could just be a 3/10 and I’m rubbish 🤣

Law Lock Tools uncomfortable?

Hi all, I’ve just bought a Valyrian euro set from Law Lock Tools, before this I used a cheap sparrows set (can’t remember which one now).

However the metal on the Valyrian set is so thin it’s bordering uncomfortable to use. Does anyone find this or is it just me?

I am not knocking of questioning the quality as I know it’s top notch, however compared to the Sparrows set it’s like homing a razor blade.

I know it’s slimmer for more precise euro and UK locks so wondered if anyone had any ideas what to do with the handles? Is heat shrinking tube a suitable idea or does anyone have a better idea?

Cheers

How would CEX price up my PC?

Hi all, I’m looking at selling my PXmC to CEX, what do they consider and how do they price it? It has a Ryzen 7800x3d, 4080 super founders, NZXT care and 3 fan water cooler and 32gb or ddr5 ram.

Of course it’s going to be a shit price compared to selling it privately but if the price was ok I would concede it for a quick sale.

Should my dad's heat pump pipes be insulated?

Hi all,

My dad has recently had an air source heat pump installed under the ECO4 scheme. The plumbing work is apparently complete, the floorboards have been put back down, but the job has not yet been signed off.

An electrician has lifted some boards today for separate electrical work, and we’ve noticed that the new copper heating pipework under the floorboards appears to have been left mostly/uninsulated. My dad also has a large box of unused pipe insulation left in the house, which makes me wonder whether this was meant to be fitted before the floors went back down.

I’m trying to understand what the proper requirement is here before I raise it formally with the installer.

The main questions are:

  1. Should heating flow/return pipework for a heat pump be insulated under suspended timber floors/voids?

  2. Do Building Regulations Approved Document L, BS 5422, MCS standards, or manufacturer instructions require this pipework to be insulated?

  3. Is it acceptable to leave heating pipework bare in an underfloor void if it is technically inside the building envelope, or would that still be considered avoidable heat loss?

  4. For low-temperature heat pump systems, is pipe insulation considered even more important because the system relies on efficiency and lower flow temperatures?

  5. Should I insist this is corrected before sign-off/handover?

I’m not trying to nit-pick, but if these pipes are left bare under the floor, surely some of the heat will be warming the void rather than the radiators/fan convectors, which seems counterproductive on a heat pump system.

Any advice from heating engineers, retrofit assessors/coordinators, MCS installers, or anyone familiar with ECO4/heat pump compliance would be much appreciated.
