Poor customer service and conflicting explanations
The customer service has honestly been extremely disappointing. I went into the store today to speak to the manager, but I felt that he completely dismissed everything I was saying rather than actually listening to my concerns.
The staff member who graded my iPhone 17 told me three times over the phone that there was no charging cable in the box. The manager then told me that there actually was a cable, but that it wasn’t an official Apple cable. This is not what I was told previously, and I know I put the original Apple cable in the box.
I asked to see the cable when I was in the store because that would have cleared the whole issue up, but I wasn’t shown it. I don’t understand why I couldn’t simply see the cable that was supposedly in the box.
I also felt very uncomfortable with how the situation was handled in the store. Security were called even though I was simply trying to discuss the issue and wasn’t raising my voice or trying to cause a scene. I felt the manager was the one becoming agitated, while other staff were walking past and looking at me as though I had done something wrong.
The phone was downgraded from A grade and around €30 was deducted. I was also unclear that the final amount being discussed included the AirPods, as this wasn’t made clear to me in the messages. I understood the agreed amount to be for the iPhone 17.
I’m not claiming I can prove exactly what happened to the cable or the phone while they were in the store, but the conflicting explanations I’ve received have seriously undermined my trust in how my items were handled.
I believe the iPhone 17 should have been graded A, and I would appreciate the €30 difference relating to the AirPods being reconsidered. More than anything, I would have appreciated straightforward communication and being treated with respect when I came into the store to raise a legitimate concern.
