[Sublet Wanted] 1BR/1BA or spacious studio, starting Aug, flexible, up to $3,000/mo, open to lease takeover
Hi all. I’m relocating from Salt Lake City to NYC and looking for a sublet to get my footing before committing long-term. I’m new to the city, so my plan is to sublet first, learn the neighborhoods, and ideally take over the lease or sign a longer-term renewal if the place is a great fit. If you’re moving out and want someone to seamlessly take over, I’m a strong candidate.
What I’m looking for:
Type: One bed / one bath, or a spacious studio. I work from home most days, so I need room for a real workspace. If it’s a studio, it needs enough room for a desk with three monitors lol
Budget: Up to $3,000/month, all-in preferred
Dates: Starting after August 1 (July won’t work). Flexible on exact start date and length, so I’m open to month-to-month, a couple months, or longer if it’s the right place.
Internet: Reliable, fast internet is a must. I work from home and can’t be fighting the Wi-Fi.
Location: Good train access is key. My main commutes are to Midtown for work and JFK for flights, so anywhere with a solid 30 min or less trip to Midtown works. Looking at Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill), Queens (Astoria, LIC), and upper Manhattan, but I’m new here, so I’m genuinely open to suggestions on neighborhoods that fit.
Nice to haves:
In-unit laundry (will settle for in-building)
Parking (not a dealbreaker)
About me: I’m a 40-year-old working professional, quiet, clean, and reliable on rent. I travel frequently for work, so the place will often be empty and well looked after, and I’ll leave it spotless. Happy to provide references and proof of income. Since I’m moving from out of state, I’m glad to hop on a call or verify however makes you comfortable. And no, I’m not a scam lol. Just looking for a place I can settle into, not just crash for a month.
If you’ve got a place, or a lease you’re looking to hand off, drop a comment or DM. Thanks!
