Handwriting practice resources

Hi all,

My son is 9 years old and has recently improved his reading and writing significantly. He is autistic with a moderate intellectual disability so he is doing incredibly well and exceeding expectations.

He's now started writing independently in class (without a scribe) and is gaining confidence but has told me today the he really wants to improve his handwriting. I asked him if he'd like me to print out some things for him to do in the holidays and he's excited by the idea.

I've just been looking at some free resources on Teachers Pay Teachers but I'm unsure whether there is a particular way he should be learning.

He attends a small public primary school in South Australia and they use the Playberry literacy model.

Are there different handwriting methods that I should be aware of or is there a particular style? He also mentioned that he is working on capitol letters and wants to improve.

I want to help him with what he's asked for but I don't want to introduce something that will confuse him or conflict with what he's learning but he asked once we got home so I didn't have a chance to ask his teacher.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks 🙏

Vasovagal Syncope vs POTS. Should I email the clinic?

Ok so this happened to my friend this week and we aren't sure how to proceed.

She had the onset of POTS symptoms a few years ago after contracting Legionnaires Disease and then Covid. She struggles a lot with hydration, she has dizziness upon standing, you can visibly see blood pooling in her legs when she has been upright for extended periods, she becomes unwell if she stands in one position for an extended period of time and we have frequently watched her HR rise above 30bpm after standing.

She has recently been part of a study on Alzheimers through a research centre in our state in Australia and a few months ago they needed to take blood. They did warn her before that it would be a lot so did extra hydration prior to going. She still understimated how much blood they would take. At first she was fine but as it was getting towards the last vials she became light-headed and eventually briefly passed out for a moment. They gave her juice and had her keep drinking electrolytes. She works at pharmacy and tried to go in after but the pharmacists saw her and sent her home due to how pale she was.

Now she sees blood regularly and injects herself weekly and she's gone through cancer treatment before. She has zero issues with blood, needles and injections. She also has blood tests regularly.

She finally had a Cardiologist appointment earlier in the week. She did a holter and echo leading up to it.

During the appointment she did a standing test and he showed her the results which showed her bpm raised from 71-100bpm. 29 bpms. The criteria says 30bpm within 10 minutes.

He asked if she faints and she said "only one time while giving blood but I see blood regularly and inject myself weekly" and then he cut her off so she couldn't continue.

He says she has Vasovagal Syncope despite that requiring a drop in HR and BP when she clearly had a rise. She has also only ever fainted one time despite seeing blood and needles very regularly.

She paid $400AUD and was given no treatment.

To me this isn't ok. It's a very rigid use of the POTS criteria and doesn't have any relation to VV unless you take the blood incident out of context.

Part of me thinks she should email the clinic and ask to see another specialist to have this addressed but is this too far or just a shit experience?

I don't feel like yesterday was a win for Karen

I've seen a bunch of tiktoks and other things saying that yesterday was a win for Karen and that the Judge came down on Proctor but I don't see it that way. He should have sent him from the 0830 meeting straight to his deposition.

Asking them to come back at 04:30pm with some sort of note meant that it was never going to be done that day and he should've asked for that to be presented either the day before or at the 0830 meeting where he could make his judgement on the spot.

Given the scheduling issues they've already had it was extremely foreseeable that a deposition the next day would never be able to happen so now Proctor has until the end of the month to find another way out of it. And we know he will.

I find the entire thing super frustrating and stupid.

A comparison of two women who vowed to be advocates for woman, children and digital violence.

Throughout this case Blake has championed herself as an advocate for woman, children and digital violence, going so far as to try and position herself alongside Giselle Pelicott and the Epstein survivors via Sigrid McCrawley.

She is anything but.

Lets look at an actual advocate for woman, children and digital violence, Paris Hilton.

Over the past few years Paris has already successfully advocated for law reforms in both state and federal US courts in order to protect institutionalised youth and victims of AI generated abuse.

In December 2024 with bipartisan support congress passed the **Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act (2024)** which inproves oversight in youth residential treatment facilities for "troubled teens" to try and prevent abuse that has led to excessive trauma and multiple deaths. Paris was kidnapped one night and taken to one of these facilties where she endured physical and emotional abuse over an extended period of time and was unable to alert her family.

Her parents had organised her stay unaware of what actually happened at these facilities. Although the bill has been passed she is still working with numerous state lawmakers to tighten regulations. While lobbying for this bill to pass she testified publicly at Congress about the physical and mental abuse she suffered and how it has affected her life since.

Not beiing done, last year Paris started advocating for a new federal law, this time the **DEFIANCE Act (2025/2026)** which will allow survivors of AI generated intimate images to pursue legal action against the creators. In 2025 it passed the Senate unanimously and is currently awaiting consideration in the House. Paris estimates that there is currently over 100,000 AI generated sexual images of herself online that she is unable to do anything about.

This is a re-traumatising event for her as part of her PTSD is due to her ex-boyfriend leaking a sex tape of them that was filmed when she was 19. He had pressured her into making it and she never thought it would be seen by others. When she told the press that she hadn't authorised it's release he sued her for defamation and she won, giving the awarded money to charity. He continued to make money off the tape though, estimating well over $10 million.

Starting on May 27th Paris will be launching a 14 part series on Tiktok called "Searching for Mr Deepfakes". She describes it as part true crime investigation and part digital safety wake up.

While these situations are very different to what Blake claimed to have suffered the difference is in the approach. Paris originally didn't intend on speaking publicly speaking about any of it. While filming a documentary that was intended to be about her work as an entrepreneur and DJ it became apparent to the filmmaker how much trauma Paris had and she encouraged Paris to start working on it. Once Paris started understanding how much everything had affected her she thought about how to make change. At that point she still hadn't told her family what had happened to her as a teen.

She used her celebrity position to continously speak publicly and openly about the issues and worked to find a solution for everybody. She hasn't sued for private gain, she hasn't fabricated events for an article to be distributed around the world and she hasn't tried to include people who don't want to be involved.

In fact, instead of focusing solely on the place and people who have harmed her she has looked at the bigger picture of each situation to see how she can benefit the children and adults who are unable to protect themselves from institutional abuse and digital violence. Rather than acting for personal revenge she has acted for collective support and change.

It also hasn't escaped my attention that unlike Blake, Paris hasn't needed to use figures such Gisele Pelicott and the Esptein Survivors via Sigrid McCrawley to try and invoke emotional parallels. That is unnecessary when you are able to speak to the very real harm and truth of a situation.

If you've got this far then thank you. While I understand the differences of the situations, I still feel we can gain something from looking at how differently two woman have acted when vowing to be an advocate for woman, children and digital violence.

Help! Instagram vs tiktok length?

So I'm going to start posting about my health stuff as it's pretty complex and I've had a lot of encouragement to do so.

There's seems to be communities on both Insta and tiktok but I want to be able to use the same videos on both.

Tiktok seems to be longer videos though? What length should be the max so I can use them for both? When I'm scrolling through Insta the videos seem to be shorter in length...

Do I make a video and then upload to capcut, add captions and a label at the start and then upload to each one?

I'm not a techy person, I just think it'll be easier explaining stuff in videos rather than replying to lots of DMs every week.

Let's revisit the first time Blake Lively frivolously accused someone of sexual harassment. Those producers also thought she was insane yet she still got a lawyer.

Just a personal note on this. I've had my makeup done professionally on a number of occasions and every time they've used a finger to apply makeup at some point, including to my lips and they have also taken a picture of my face with the makeup everytime. This seems standard. As for her sleeping, maybe she just had her eyes closed because no make up artist would want a photo of their makeup if the person was visibly sleeping.

The article:

In light of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein, more and more women and men in Hollywood are discussing producers and people in power who harassed and manipulated them.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Blake Lively said she was harassed by an unnamed makeup artist she worked with in the past. When she reported him to the producers, they did nothing.

After Lively took legal action, he was removed from the project and still got a letter of recommendation.

“He was saying things inappropriately, insisting on putting my lipstick on with his finger,” Lively recalled in her Times interview. “I was sleeping one night on location and I woke up and he was filming me. I was clothed, but it was a very voyeuristic, terrifying thing to do.”

“After three months of complaining, they called me into my trailer and said, ‘We need to talk to you,'" she explained. "I thought, ‘Well finally, they’re going to do something about this man who I had to have touching me all day.’ And they said, ‘Your dog left a poop behind the toilet in your dressing room and our janitor had to pick it up. And this is very serious and we can't have this happen again.’”

It was this dismissal from the producers that prompted Lively to get a lawyer, but she still spent more than three months on a project with someone who made her uncomfortable and had to work in a close proximity with him every day.

DJ Hungry Human on tiktok has THE funniest video I've seen all week featuring Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni & Queen Emily Baldoni.

Ok so we know Justin and Emily were seen out for coffee the day after settlement and the Met Gala and some paps got a few fabulous of them.

Side note: A different tiktok posted the photos saying Jen Abel was hard at work after the settlement and Jen jumped in the comments to say once again this wasn't her and they just decided to go for coffee 😂

I don't know how to get a tiktok summary so if someone wants to let me know that would great.

But this tiktok goes over why Blake should not look at these photos 😂

The terms "I'm a shy girl", "rancid personality" and "completely deranged" are used in perfect context. Enjoy 🤭

Gottleib is such a piece of shit.

In Melissa Nathans deposition she explains how December 2024 was the worst time of her life. Earlier in the deposition (which I forgot to include here) she mentions a time when she was receiving death threats and had to call her sons school and her & husband were thinking they would have to move house and she was in a constant state of panic.

I'm not sure what date that was but further on she describes being served papers while her child was crying, a tree had fallen on their house and she was trying to evacuate. Gottleib apologies for it being hard on her but then tries to blame it on Freedman saying that if Brian had accepted the subpoenas they wouldn't have had to serve her directly BUT Brian's house was literally burning down at the time. To nothing. How in the hell was he meant to accept subpoenas for Justin, Jamey, Wayfarer, TAG, Jen, Mel, Steve and IEWU LLC?!

Melissas point was that it was not the time to be doing it which he didn't care for...

It never ceases to amaze me what a cunt he is.
