2026 900 rally pro heated seat and soft panniers advice

Just picked up a 2026 Tiger 900 Rally Pro Desert Edition and rode it 340 miles home. It is an absolute mile cruncher, but I have two questions for owners.

  1. Heated seats. My heated grips work great, but the seat does not heat. I took the seats off and there is no connector or heating element on the underside of either seat, and there is an unplugged red connector in the tray under the seat. The dash shows the heated seat icon with a line through it. Visordown says heated seats are optional on the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert editions, but one spec site lists them as standard. Does your 2026 Desert Edition (or Rally Pro) come with heated seats? If you added the Triumph heated seat, what did it cost and was it plug and play with that red connector?

  2. Soft panniers. I want quick on and off soft bags and no hard cases. I am looking at the Mosko Moto (Outback Motortek) pannier rack for the Triumph, which has an asymmetric hoop with 18 mm tubing, plus Rhinowalk 35L side bags with the MP24003 extender. My Akrapovic can is on the right side. Has anyone run Rhinowalk bags on this rack on a Tiger 900? How was the right side exhaust clearance, and would you go 35L on both sides or a smaller bag on the right? Other options I am considering are the Shad TR40 with the 4P mount and the SW-Motech SysBag kit.

Photos of your setup would be much appreciated. Thanks!

XSR700 to Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Long distance owners, how is it?

About to buy a lightly used 2024 Rally Pro, roughly 1,200 miles. Demoing one this week first.

Coming from a 2019 XSR700 with Öhlins, which I'm keeping. 5'10" with a 32" inseam, boots add an inch. Rode a Multistrada V4 and found it heavy but not intimidating, so the size doesn't worry me.

Riding is about 80% pavement, 20% gravel and easy fire roads. Longest planned trip is 570 miles each way on back roads.

What I care about most is a plush ride and low vibration at 70 to 75. The Öhlins has spoiled me on suspension. Reviews say the 2024 damped bar mounts fixed the vibration complaint, but I'd rather hear from owners.

So: how is it on a long highway day, how is the stock seat past three hours, and what annoys you about it after some time with it?

Thanks.
