Sodbusters

A couple of recently made fullsize Sodbusters. Pretty nice. Blades are centered, pull is smooth but could be stiffer.

Made a sheath for ‘em out of 8-9oz Hermann Oak.

You could say I have a type…

American. 4 or 4 1/4” brim. Cattleman - JB.

One year

I’ve had this American for 15 months, and aside from April, May, and July, I have worn it pretty much daily since February ‘25 working on a farm and two weeks riding pens in a feedlot. I’ve been careful about using shop towels to no sweat it through so fast to make it last a little longer. I smashed the crown and it’s pretty soft, it’s been in a few showers and the brim is pretty floppy. It still has another couple of months and it’ll get trashed. Don’t fall in love with a straw but I sure do like this one!

Cattleman/ low JB brim.

Sodbuster

Most versatile folder ever IMO. I’ve carried a fullsize sodbuster for most of my 45 years and haven’t found anything that I like near as much.

If you want to shape hats these things won’t cut it. I just got a 4000 and it puts out about like a teapot on the stove.

Will not wven come close to softening the laquer on a straw and just got a felt wet.

Save your time and money.

I originally shaped this as a WTP but it wouldn’t oval out and gave me a headache. Fired up the steamer and smashed it into a good ol Cattleman.
