Not many guys here

I’ve been wearing the same thing for years. Everything but the boots and hats is standardized. I have boots from a few different makers, felt hats for winter, ball caps for really windy days. I have a few winter clothes to layer over and a few nice shirts for going out. But for the most part, if you’ve ever seen me, you’ve seen this!

New Trapper

This was the display at the feed store. It’s about perfect. Stout springs, blades swing smoooth, centered when closed, no gaps in the liners, springs, etc. Happy to have it. Promptly made a belt sheath for it.

New Sodbuster

Saw this Sodbuster at the feed store yesterday, had to snag it. Went home and promptly made a belt sheath out of 8-9oz Hermann Oak.

17X7.5 for Lexus?

I have a ‘25 ES300H with 18s and my wife has bent TWO wheels hitting potholes in 11K miles.

Would a good set of forged 17s hold up better?

I don’t know anything about anything of aftermarket wheels.

Shaped up a 30X Rodeo King

Friend brought me a CROOKED in both ways Rodeo King. Popped it out and ironed it flat. Bent it up into a Wide Cattleman, kinda low & wide JB or a narrow CHL if you wanted to call it something.

Sodbusters

A couple of recently made fullsize Sodbusters. Pretty nice. Blades are centered, pull is smooth but could be stiffer.

Made a sheath for ‘em out of 8-9oz Hermann Oak.

You could say I have a type…

American. 4 or 4 1/4” brim. Cattleman - JB.

One year

I’ve had this American for 15 months, and aside from April, May, and July, I have worn it pretty much daily since February ‘25 working on a farm and two weeks riding pens in a feedlot. I’ve been careful about using shop towels to no sweat it through so fast to make it last a little longer. I smashed the crown and it’s pretty soft, it’s been in a few showers and the brim is pretty floppy. It still has another couple of months and it’ll get trashed. Don’t fall in love with a straw but I sure do like this one!

Cattleman/ low JB brim.

Sodbuster

Most versatile folder ever IMO. I’ve carried a fullsize sodbuster for most of my 45 years and haven’t found anything that I like near as much.

If you want to shape hats these things won’t cut it. I just got a 4000 and it puts out about like a teapot on the stove.

Will not wven come close to softening the laquer on a straw and just got a felt wet.

Save your time and money.

I originally shaped this as a WTP but it wouldn’t oval out and gave me a headache. Fired up the steamer and smashed it into a good ol Cattleman.
