Does anyone want to meet up?

For drinks, a walk or anything else really (I'm not picky). I grew up both here and abroad, but most of my old friends from The Hague have left in recent years. I study in Amsterdam so I don't have many opportunities to meet new people who live here.

If you think it might be nice to hang out sometime, feel free to send me a message! I’m always up for meeting new people and seeing where things go. No pressure, no expectations. If we click, great, and if not, that’s totally fine too. Even just a casual chat or a quick break from the usual routine can be nice 😊

Edit: Going to be at the restaurant Baladi Manouche tomorrow (Thursday) at 15:30 with someone who reached out to me here. Anyone is welcome to join us!

How come so many people were granted citizenship in Armenia last year compared to Azerbaijan and Georgia?

For Armenia it was 25,670

https://arminfo.info/full_news.php?id=101012&lang=3

For Azerbaijan it was 64

https://report.az/en/domestic-politics/64-were-granted-azerbaijani-citizenship-in-2025

For Georgia it was 2333

Is this just because of the Armenian diaspora repatriating? If so, is this a new trend (and why)? Or do a lot of them live abroad but for some reason decided to acquire citizenship by descent without moving to Armenia?

My Armenian dad's results + pic

Half of his ancestry is originally from Muş, Turkey. The other half is from Ganja, Azerbaijan. His family has been living within the borders of modern day Armenia since the early 20th century.

My travel map as a 24 year old

You can try to guess where I'm from if you want, but it might be difficult.

Honestly it bothers me. As a (partial) Armenian from Europe, that random city in the USA has nothing to do with me. But somehow under any post about Armenia, people from the USA brigade the comments with their negative experiences in Glendale.

What bothers me most is that those people think that their experience with a super specific diaspora group is representative of Armenians everywhere, not knowing that the reputation of Armenians varies greatly by region.

The main gripe I have with that outlook is that the stuff they say about "Armenians" rarely have any relevance to the Republic of Armenia, and are often just confusing.

I've heard people say that Armenians are unfriendly, which seems almost impossible to me. Armenia is up there with the friendliest countries I've ever been to. Definitely much more friendly than my home country in Europe.

It's gotten to the point that sometimes I actually prefer the negative comments from Azerbaijanis because they seem less outlandish and more based in reality than the stuff "Glendale" people have to say.
