Bathtime - bathing kids together?

Hi - So I'm curious how do you do bath time with two kids solo? I have a 2.7 year old and a 17 month old. I currently bathe them separately, but find that neither kid wants to leave the bathroom while the other is taking a bath. I'm terrified that they will be running around and fall / hurt themselves on the tile. How do you all do this? Should I just bathe them together?

Thanks for any ideas!

Husband has decided that being a parent is optional

I just need to get this off my chest. We have two wonderful kids - 2.5 and 14 months old. My husband has decided that actively parenting, and being a contributing member of the family are entirely optional for him. This started around when my second one was born. Around the same time, he hurt his back and needed to do physical therapy. I chalked it up to male post partum depression/ the back. It got better when the baby was around 9 months old. And then it’s been progressively getting worse again.

I’m just so mystified by his lack of caring and engagement. It’s everything from refusing to change diapers to not getting up at night with the baby or feeding either of them. He sometimes plays with them but then reaches his threshold after 20 minutes. I get that he’s an introvert and needs breaks. But I have gone out of my way to accommodate this, and give him plenty of alone time.

My husband claims it’s due to his back hurting, being stressed at work. He also says that “I’m too obsessed with the kids”, and when I ask for help to just “figure it out”.

I just don’t know what to do. It makes me sad that he’s not the kind of partner I would want him to be, the kind of father my kids deserve. At the same time, I don’t know how to help him.

I was also laid off from my job a few months back and am actively searching for another one. I am also very stressed about how we will manage when I’m working full time again and my husband is not participating.

Any ideas / direction? I’m going to pursue therapy again but anything else I should be doing?

Thank you for reading this far.i

Edit to add: thank you for the helpful replies. So insightful and have given me a lot to think about. Therapy is at the top of the list!

Women in HR/talent/people roles in tech?

Hi! I’m in the HR/talent space at a professional services company and trying to make the switch to the same type of role but in tech. I’m realizing I don’t have much of a network in tech; I’m trying to cold apply / reach out to distant connections on linked in etc. It’s not working very well. Any suggestions on how I can learn more about these types of roles, build my network etc? Anyone that’s a “must follow” on social media? Any events you all would suggest?

Realize this is broad but I’m not sure where to start!

Thank you for any ideas!
