For those of you that take Ubrelvy…

Does it reduce your dizziness/ vertigo, unbalanced feeling and swaying? For me it only slightly reduces those sensations if anything but it does help with head pressure/fullness and if I actually have any head pain. I have taken it multiple times now and still feel very wobbly even after several hours :/

Physical therapy question

Has anyone here done PT for this condition but with focus more on propioception and balance exercises, less on visual tracking? I feel like the visual tracking exercises are making my symptoms worse.. I already did 4 weeks of PT back in april where we mostly focused on the eye exercises, it worked then and my symptoms improved a lot but since my symptoms have changed and are more like vertigo and a constant movement in my body. The visual tracking exercises are causing me eye strain and I think focusing on actual balance exercises especially with eyes closed would help a lot more. Does that make any sense? Planning to bring this up to my physical therapist at the next appointment, unfortunately it’s a new therapist so they’re kind of just doing the standard VRT program with me.

Has anyone tried Boiron MotionCalm?

I know homeopathics are kind of iffy and controversial but whenever I am in a bad flare I’m desperate and willing to try anything 😅 I have vertigo and off balance sensations every day. I have ubrelvy as a rescue but had already taken it the day before so yesterday while I was feeling horrible I took 2 motioncalm tablets and felt a lot better 30 mins after. I’ve taken them in the past as well and they always seem to help even just a little bit. Maybe it’s placebo, maybe not, who knows. Has anyone tried this or other homeopathics? My german grandma who also suffers from chronic dizziness swears by vertigoheel which is also a homeopathic.

Can I take ubrelvy as preventative on travel day?

I have a trip coming up and am honestly terrified of the airport, flight and just the whole day in general :/ This will be my first flight since getting diagnosed. Usually I would just knock myself out but I’m flying with my 1 year old so I have to be alert. I was thinking of taking ubrelvy either the night before or morning of as a preventative. It helps quite a bit when I take it as a rescue. It works best after 5-6 hours and into the next morning. Would that work? Traveling is stressful as is but add VM into the mix and it sounds like an actual nightmare…

Qulipta and ubrelvy

Just took my first dose of qulipta (60 mg but cut it in 4 pieces and took 1/4) and am terrified. I‘m really sensitive to medications and am very anxious taking anything new especially something like this. Any positive experiences? If so when did you notice any changes? Right after the first dose or much later? I need some positive reassurance please. Also got ubrelvy as a rescue but haven’t taken that yet

Anyone else get woken up by the dizziness/vertigo sometimes?

This is so ridiculous, I can’t even sleep anymore 😒 Sleep used to be my relief at least but now I get woken up by this weird internal brain vertigo?! Like it’s not actual room spinning more like a head pressure feeling and like that almost falling sensation. Prevents me from falling back asleep. It’s so exhausting living like this… I have a neurologist appointment monday thankfully… I got prescribed hydroxyzine for the anxiety that sometimes accompanies these symptoms, idk if that will help me sleep or make symptoms worse

Anyone else grossed out by splash pads? 🤢😅

We personally prefer to go to our apartments pool which is well maintained and rarely has people in it. The splash pad just seems… dirty and contaminated. Anyone and their mother can walk around in it, people let their dogs play in it (even though there’s plenty of signs that say no dogs allowed), dirty diaper water gets splashed around… Idk the water to poop ratio at the pool just seems better 😅 Doesn’t help that my 14 month old loves to drink any kind of water, bath water, pool water, splash pad water… It seemed like an easier more fun place for her to safely play with water but I don’t want her to drink the water there and get sick. I think we‘ll stick to the pool and water table at home lol

Been in a terrible flare for 5 days going on 6 - when will this end 😞

I’ve been dealing with this condition for almost a year but I want to say right now is the worst symptoms have been.!Constant internal spinning/ rocking sensation, when I walk inside my apartment it feels like I’m walking on a trampoline. Nighttime in the dark is the worst. I can’t get any relief, can’t sleep because closing my eyes worsens the spinning sensation. I have horrible anxiety that this is going to last forever :( Desperately waiting to see my physical therapist on monday, VRT has been the only thing that has helped in the past but I had a major setback due to a viral illness I caught from my daughter in May. This is truly horrific…. I take a bunch of supplements already but no meds..

Huge improvement from VRT then symptoms returned…

Hi so I have been suffering with either VM or Vestibular hypo function. My doctors are not sure for almost a year now. In april I decided to give VRT a try and my therapist very confidently said “we can get this figured out in a month”. I did 2 sessions a week plus daily at home exercises and by the end of the month I was almost symptom free. It was so amazing. I went from a 7/10 dizziness, imbalance, floaty feeling to maybe a 1/10. Besides during ovulation and menstruation unfortunately during those times I’d still get slight symptoms but nothing crazy.

Then in may my household got hit with hand foot and mouth disease and I wasn’t able to do my exercises for 2 weeks and then boom. Dizziness, head pressure etc returned. I have since started doing exercises again but honestly it’s been getting worse again :/ Did I ruin all my progress? Do I have to start over from scratch again or does this condition just never get better? I had one of my worst spells last night and it was preventing me from going to sleep, it’s so exhausting ugh

Parents of young kids: How are you managing this?

I have a 14 month old and so far she has not gotten sick, not counting spit up as a baby. This evening she started running a fever and overall just not feeling too great. My biggest fear is and has always been her or me catching norovirus. Specifically her though since she can’t tell me when she’s going to be sick, I know it’s inevitable but I really need some tips on how to handle this especially if it’s at night. I already laid out some towels in the room but I’m so scared I won’t be able to help her and just go into a panic attack or something. My phobia is of other people getting sick not so much myself since I can control myself better. Any tips are appreciated. Hopefully it’s just a cold and not a stomach bug….

Help: 3 Hr flight or 20 Hr Roadtrip with 16 month old????

If you’re a seasoned parent that has traveled a lot I need your advice.. We’re planning a 2 week trip to my MIL’s house this summer and are trying to decide which option would be easier/better. My husband thinks it would be better if we drove so we can pack things like portable AC (the room we’re in gets really hot), high chair, car seat, stroller, slumber pod etc in the trunk and then we’d also be able to have my 7 seater SUV for family when there. I personally couldn’t think of anything worse than being stuck in a car with my then 16 month old for 20+ HOURS!!! But maybe I’m just being dramatic Idk. I think flying would be easier but then we’d have to figure out the AC situation when there, lug stroller, car seat and a million suitcases through the airport and then rent a bigger car there. My husband’s older daughters are meeting us there and we wouldn’t all be able to fit in a regular car. Honestly neither sounds ideal but I haven’t traveled enough with her to know. So far she has been on one 3 hr plane ride at 6 months old and it went ok. Help please????

Update: We’re flying 😂

How to know if my 13 month old is ready to go from 2 naps to 1 nap a day?

She has been a good sleeper since around 3-4 months old. She is currently Going to bed at 7 and wakes up around 6:50. First nap is around 10:15/10:30-11:30 then awake until 2, then nap until 3:30. She has no problem taking her naps and goes down to sleep at night within 15 mins. My only concern is that she has been waking up around 3:30 am every night consistently. She doesn’t ever cry or anything, she just sits or stands there for a good 45 mins, talking to herself and then goes back to sleep. It’s been happening for the past week or so and Idk if this interruption means she isn’t tired enough at night? She’s never done anything like this not even during the 4 month sleep regression. Is this a sign that she’s ready to drop a nap or this just a sleep regression?

Feeding my baby is so incredibly frustrating at the time. She used to be such a good eater and ate everything under the sun. All foods, all textures.. We’ve been doing BLW since 5.5 months but around 10 ish months she started to get more and more picky. At this point she only wants yogurt, smashed avocado, baby bell, raspberries (not even any other berries) and occasionally eggs. I offer other foods daily and she gets offered what we eat for dinner but I’m at a loss. She won’t eat any solid textures like toast, pancakes any meat nor any vegetables no matter how it’s cooked or seasoned. I realllyyy didn’t want her to become a picky eater. I was a really picky eater as a child and kind of still am one now but it sucks and I don’t want this for her :( Help please
