Constant high humidity alerts for a week straight now

Hello everyone,

We’ve been having constant high humidity alerts for exactly one week and I can’t pinpoint the reason why. This has happened in the past and my dad suggested we set our fan to running every 30 minutes per hour (was running every 10 min per hour before that) and that seemed to fix it - I had also turned our wall humidistat off which was originally at 45%.

That was 2 months ago and just in the last week we have been having humidity issues back to back where ecobee shows it at or above 70%. We noticed it first when it had rained a lot this one day and thought it would go down In a day or two but it didn’t. We live in an executive townhouse and are sandwiched in between two other townhouses. Our ecobee is on the wall facing our neighbours (not on an outside wall).

To troubleshoot, I decided to see if the fan setting went back to run 10 minutes every hour and for some reason it was (we had changed it to 30 min every hour as mentioned earlier) so idk why but I decided that maybe the fan needs to keep running indefinitely to “dry up” the moisture. I left it on like that overnight and nothing changed and I did some research on that and apparently that makes it worse lol. So I’ve switched it back to 30 min every hour and it’s been like this for a day now but still no change. It’ll fluctuate and go down to 62% at the lowest but then go back up to or above 70%.

Weird thing was that I plugged in a nanny cam in our lounge where the ecobee is (it has a humidity sensor) and it gave us a reading of 52%. So I don’t get it.

Anyone know what to do?

Luteal phase with two young kids is an Olympic sport. Send help

Hello fellow PMDDxADHDers!

I am honestly struggling and I’m desperate for help. I’m a 30y/o mom of two young boys (5 and 1) and my luteal phase has become the bane of my existence. The second ovulation is over I can feel that sudden shift in my mood- it starts with apathy, and over the course of the next few days it evolves into moodiness, irritation, impatience, easily frustrated and constant overwhelm. My 5 y/o will get the brunt of it and I hate that because the shame and guilt I feel about it after yelling at him or responding to him unkindly - I honestly hate it so much and I so desperately wish I was always a kind, happy, loving and energetic mom.

I’ve tried the antihistamine hack (not sure if it helps that much tbh maybe just a little) and last month I tried taking evening primrose oil every day in my luteal phase and I did notice that it did help a bit (maybe improve my symptoms by 30%) but is there anything else I can do to not feel like shit from the moment I wake up to evening?

I should also mention I’m on straterra - I was diagnosed with ADHD (after suspecting I had it for yeaaaars) and I started straterra just 3 months ago (40mg). While it does help with my mood stability during the start of my cycle and ovulation - the luteal phase feels like my meds take a back seat. Almost as if it’s fighting with the hormonal drop that happens during then.

Please throw me any tips you have. I’m desperate.

Found 2 dead roaches in my laundry room… how screwed am I

Hey everyone - currently freaking out because I hate any type of bug in my house but cockroaches just scare me because of the huge potential for them to take over your home.

Our garage unfortunately isn’t the cleanest (I’ve called someone to come over tomorrow to help clear it out and clean it up) and I’m assuming we must have had some hanging out in there because I found one almost-dead one yesterday morning in front of our freezer in the laundry room down stairs (our laundry room has direct access to our garage). My husband had the garage door wide open the other day because he was bringing stuff in from our car into the house - I told this guy to keep the door shut to stop bugs from coming in but of course he left it wide open anyways. I came down this morning again and found another dead one in front of the garage door. I don’t know what to do, I’m
Thinking to scrub the entire laundry room now and I already have someone coming tomorrow to help clean out and scrub the garage. But do I need to call pest control??? What do I do
