first september bakes🧡🎃

first up: sally’s carrot cake with cream cheese icing in a bundt tin🥕 (it broke!!!💔the icing job was my “glue” and i piped little carrots and used toasted walnuts to make it look as intentional as possible)

second: pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing and cinnamon sugar 🤎🎃

cornbread cupcakes *iced* with garlic mashed potato and topped with fried chicken 💝

i couldn’t get this stupid idea out of my head for months. originally it was supposed to be a whole cake, but i figured start small with cupcakes as this was my first time making cornbread at all. it came out AMAZING and i kind of want to make them for thanksgiving

i used mel’s kitchen cafe’s best cornbread ever recipe: https://www.melskitchencafe.com/the-cornbread-and-fluffy-honey-butter/

the recipe doesn’t give the instructions to make it into muffins, so i used sally’s instructions: bake at 425 for 5 minutes, then 350 for 15 minutes 😊🌽

mother’s day cannoli cake+some orange and chocolate ricotta cookies

i was requested a cannoli cake for mother’s day, which i have never made before, it’s a buttermilk/rum simple syrup drizzled white cake with chocolate and orange cannoli filling and cannoli buttercream. i followed some recipe someone posted on here, it came out good but a little uninspired for my taste. my great grandma quite literally scraped the plate, though! and she’s picky 😄.

the ricotta cookies are from sally’s website, they’re so soft and delicious!! 10/10 recommend. i just need to make them smaller next time 😅 https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/orange-chocolate-chip-ricotta-cookies/

cookies and cream cake with oreo buttercream (the sides got a little too filled!) for a family member’s birthday. i used cardboard to cut out the heart shape and sprinkle the cookie dust over it. this is the second one i’ve made in a month! hopefully i won’t get anymore requests for this one for a little while 😅
