EV Evivia 12P vs Alto TS412

I’m currently looking at buying a lower priced PA system to occasionally DJ parties and small bars of no more than 40 people. I was looking at the Evivia line from Electro Voice as I’ve heard that it’s a reputable brand in the audio industry. What confuses me is why is this particular line is selling less than the Alto brand series of the same size speaker. I’ve heard that alto isn’t a great brand in terms of quality and build. Does anyone know why this is? Is the Evivia line not great either? The Eviva 12P is currently selling at $369 and the TS412 is currently selling at $399.

Hypothetical Women uprising?

Hypothetically speaking what would it take for women as a whole to start violently uprising against the status quo/declining state of affairs of women’s rights/quality of life? If nothing changes or gets worse, are people comfortable with violence against the state? Will we see Charlie Kirk and Brian Thompson style attacks on leaders who are keeping women down? I am not calling for violence but I am curious what is everyone’s tipping point for when things aren’t changing.

Pride Fest 2026 thoughts

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend Pride this year. I am curious of everyone’s experience and reviews from attending this year’s Pride. I saw they had a single day attendance record since it’s been held at the Summerfest grounds. What was amazing? What was underwhelming? What should be for next year?

What makes you dance?

I went and saw a friend dj at La Cage tonight. He was alternating with a dj who’s more pop and top 40 albeit more dancey remixes where my friend is more house and techno. Both DJs were playing similar BPM music. When my friend was djing the dancing floor didn’t completely leave but it was noticeable. It just made me remember about the dancing post someone recent posted. Do you dance to music to you recognize the lyrics or do you feel the rhythm even tho you may not know the song? Or do you perceive the vibe of even if its “harder”?

I saw the post from a few days ago asking how people get around. It made wonder what it would take for people ride public transit more. Is it more stops? More frequency/reliability of arrival? Safety: perceived and actual? Obviously cars aren’t going anywhere but I think the goal is to balance both so there’s less traffic on the roads so it’s faster to get around and we need less maintenance on them.

My friend and I want to see Miguel Migs as part of the house music is home party June 6th at Soundbar. Criticisms about Soundbar aside, can someone clarify the details of getting a table/bottle service. My understanding is that we reserve the table and we have to spend a minimum for bottles depending on the number of people we have. Now I’m unsure if our ticket entry is included with our table. Is any of this correct? TIA!
