Pics from AX panel

Some staff from Madhouse were there, and showed some behind-the-scenes stuff. Kojima did a live drawing during the panel (pictured last)

Director did an explanation of the themes and imagery of the op which was very interesting.

No new s3 stuff besides the new visual of Genau.

Saw new trailer for Mahoyo at AX

It had some of the same footage as already released, but also some cool spellcasting. Producer guy confirmed a North American theatrical release after the Japanese one.

It looked great and audience seemed excited, even though it was a Demon Slayer panel. It was kind of like "we have no new Demon Slayer stuff for you guys, so here's a Mahoyo trailer instead". Went over pretty well.

I've had this shirt for 23 years

It's come with me on many moves across the country and two colleges. Nowadays, it's faded and worn. The print is cracking. It's also far too big for me now. I only wear it inside the house or when I'm exercising, since it's comfortable and loose.

Until now, I've never had a specific reason to wear this shirt outside the house. Even for anime conventions, I have many newer, nicer and better-fitting anime shirts to wear now. This isn't even a great design for an anime shirt—I tend to avoid black shirts with a cropped-off print on the front. That's just lazy design. These days I go for all-over prints, since they are much more eye-catching and cool. But back in the early 2000s, this sort of anime shirt was all that we could get our hands on. It was back in a world when this design might be considered risqué; when wearing a shirt featuring an esoteric anime made you a weirdo. Wearing this shirt back then was somewhat brave, and it certainly made a statement. At least, I thought so.

I can't tell you how pleased I am to finally have a reason to wear this shirt outside of the house again. To have an actual Utena-related event near me where this shirt is relevant. I received several compliments on the shirt (and again, this is not a nice shirt anymore, if it ever was.) But all the fans at the screening recognized how rare an event this was, and we were all so happy that this movie was finally given some recognition here in the states. I saw another girl with a newer, nicer Utena t-shirt. I complimented hers; she complimented mine. I feel like I've come full circle.

What can I expect for line waiting times?

As a newbie, how far ahead should I get into line for something I really want to see?
I'm looking for average line wait times for Peacock Theater, Crypto arena, Petree Hall and both JW Marriott ballrooms on Saturday (the biggest day).

I feel like Peacock Theater and Crypto Arena are so big that even if you showed up right before the panel started, you'd still get in, right? Even if you got seated at the back.

But the JW Marriott ballrooms and Petree Hall, I have no idea when they would cut off the line due to capacity. Do I have to get in line three hours early? Two hours early, one hour early?

This is my tentative schedule for Saturday:

10 AM - Bleach - Crypto Arena

12 PM - Magic Knight Rayearth World Premiere - JW Marriott Diamond

2:45 PM - Ghost in the Shell Premiere - JW Marriott Diamond

4:30 PM - FGO - Petree Hall

6 PM - Frieren - JW Marriott Platinum

8 PM - Cyberpunk Edgerunners - JW Marriott Platinum

Help figure out if this is logistically possible. The Bleach panel is the first thing on my schedule, so I can show up however early I need to for the Crypto Arena line. That ends at around 11 AM so I'd have an hour for the Rayearth line, which hopefully is the easiest panel of the day to get into due to lesser popularity. I think they won't clear the Diamond ballroom, so I can just stay in there until GITS panel. But then it gets hairy: the GITS panel ends at 4 PM, FGO starts at 4:30, I'd be getting in line like 15 mins before it start so I'm not sure if it's possible that I would get in. Similarly, the FGO panel ends at 5:50 so i'd have to run back to the Marriott and show up right before Frieren starts. If I could get into Frieren, then I can just stay in the Platinum through to Cyberpunk because they won't do room clear.

Surely they will premiere the first episode of the new Ghost in the Shell, right?

The new series, which adheres more closely to the manga than previous adaptations, premieres July 7th. The studio is Science Saru. The producer is a confirmed guest.

Surely they will have a panel and show the first episode right??

Is this headband too "bridal-like"?

I'm trying to find a headband to match my dress for a black tie wedding. Yes, I need one because I can't style my hair for shit so for formal occasions where I have to look "nice", I just pop on a headband and it keeps hair out of my face and makes it look fancy.

This headband matches my dress and I think it would look nice, but I worry about it looking too much like a bridal tiara and I don't want to wear anything that would upstage the bride in any way.

What do you guys think? Here's the dress: https://macduggal.com/products/9189

Studio Orange brought some Stargaze stuff to the panel

It's like a crude pre-viz of the Wolfwood vs Razlo fight with no music nor facial animation. The director of that episode was there. He was talking about this episode and how it was so difficult to visualize the fight.

I asked them why the whole Stargaze season felt so rushed, and he vaguely said "We were trying to do something new and different" (whatever the hell that means).

But they only spent like 10 mins on Trigun, the rest was about BEASTARS and other anime they've done. They seem to want to move on quickly and not dwell on Trigun.

Studio Orange is coming to Momocon next week. What to ask them?

The studio behind Stampede and Stargaze will have representatives at Momocon. What questions should I ask them?

I don't know if I can say something like "Why did Stargaze suck?" or perhaps imply it...

Help me decide: Black Tie wedding in June

I am struggling with this as I've never been to a black tie wedding before. Are any of these suitable? I'm aware they are all too long and would need to be hemmed.
Also, I have fat arms so my preference is hide them with sleeves, at least a short sleeve. Even though it'll be hot in June, I still want a dress with sleeves. I am worried about some of these dresses being too hot for June though.

I'm making the drive there to see Mandalorian.

Do you have to buy a ticket to the aquarium itself in order to get in? I'm just interested in the movie, not the aquarium.

How long before the showing should I get there in order to get a good seat? My showing is 5/24 @7:45 pm.
