How were you diagnosed? Can your primary family doctor diagnose you?

For YEARS I have had issues with my bladder (probably 10+ now), constant UTI symptoms coming and going and ALWAYS PEEING (2-3 times an hour) but always testing negative for an actual UTI. I feel like this is always triggered by a weekend of eating too much sugar or spicy foods. I get ovarian cysts/kidney stones also reoccurring so my doctor referred me to a gynaecologist who specializes in the bladder but told me it will be a YEAR before I even hear a call back. 😭it’s been over a year and I haven’t even heard a call back from this referral yet. My family doctor just sends me for ultrasounds whenever this happens, and like multiple times I’ve had fluid in my ureter or ovarian cysts and I’ll do a follow up and
It’ll be normal again so there is no follow up from my family doctor after that. I’m literally sick all the time and my sleep is horrible because I wake up and pee so much. I’m also in school again and have been missing so much class due to being sick/ these reoccurring “uti” symptoms. Can your family doctor diagnose you, or does it have to be a specialist? I have an appointment with her in about 2 weeks so I was going to make a journal of my symptoms / how much I pee. So tired of this!!! I cry on the weekly about these symptoms and getting so real answers, especially because I physically don’t look sick so I’m not taken seriously.

The mark is becoming slightly raised again. I have a doctor’s appt in a month to address a couple other things and was going to address this also.
