Sendy Audio Apollo Pro Review

-$449

-78mm Planar Magnetic Driver

-Zebrawood & Aluminum (gorgeous)

What's good everyone? I just published my full review of the Sendy Audio Apollo Pro at MBA this morning and I am happy to share it with you today. I knew this'd be a good one. Sendy Audio went all out in this set as it is absolutely beautiful at any angle, packaged very well, very classy, and the build is substantial using all premium materials including Zebrawood and aviation grade aluminum. It is very hard to not be impressed. The best part is the balanced and highly musical sound, every area of the mix represented very well. Just a treat to listen to! Please feel free to check out my thoughts if you'd like, that’s what they’re there for. I spent over a month and a half with this set so I could get a true long term evaluation of the sound, something I try to do with every review. Especially with those sets that I truly enjoy and feel will make a lot people happy. Anyways, I also want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to each of you for  visiting the website. I really don't say that enough. Also, take good care and enjoy your tunes!

🔥 Apollo Pro Pros 🔥

-Competitive Pricing at $449

-Premium build materials (Zebrawood & Aluminum)

-Excellent comfort, nice clamping force, great for long sessions

-The design is through the roof awesome. That wood and metal design and sunburst grille are (in my opinion) just awesome

-Overall very well balanced

-Very natural timbre, closer to earthy-organic, warm/neutral and richly weighted without any true drawbacks of a smoother and warmer sound due to that planar driver

-Controlled, robust, and extended bass for an open-back planar set

-Organic, full bodied mids, nice vocal playback, never shouty

-Treble is very composed, clean, detailed, and well extended without sharpness

-Well detailed per the musicality-first tuning

-Great sound separation and layering of the sound field

-Open and very spacious stage in all directions

-Near all-rounder tuning which is great for many genres

🥶 Apollo Pro Cons 🥶

-Definitely some open-back sound leakage

-The bold and beautiful design may be awesome for me, but is it for you?

-That case is a bit suggestive.. Lol. You'll know when you see it (not really a con.. Lol)

-Bassheads will want to look elsewhere

-While sublevel extension is good for an open-back planar, it still has a subtle roll-off

-Less upper mid bite and snappy attack than some might enjoy

-Not great for any true analytical detail trackers, but nice details for the tuning

-Treble is well balanced and clean but it doesn't sparkle like some may like

-Somewhat softened transient bite at times

TANCHJIM SPACE II REVIEW

Check out my full review of the Tanchjim Space II here:   https://mobileaudiophile.com/dacs/dongle/tanchjim-space-ii-review/

Tanchjim Space II Review

$87

Hello, at the link is my full review of the Tanchjim Space II. The Space II is the latest dongle dac within the “Space Series” and a very solid device all the way around. Tanchjim did a great job on this one folks. Really, from the build, to the design, to the sound I find the Space II to be one of the better and more versatile dongle dacs under $100. Beyond normal functionality, it's absolutely loaded with features and ways to dial in the sound through the well done Tanchjim app. Too much for me to list down here, but I can say that the PEQ is great, and all of the EQ profiles that you can use are almost endless with The “Sound Effects Community”. This one is a very easy REC and it's a dongle dac that'll stay in my everyday carry bag for the foreseeable future. Anyway, feel free to check out my review and as always, I hope it helps you in one way or another. Take it easy.

🔥 Space II Pros 🔥

-Price-to-performance

-The build is great. All aluminum, CNC machined, built well

-Lightweight and easy on your phone’s USB-C port

-Distinctive and sleek appearance, gradient colorway, and that window is nice

-Tanchjim app is a huge plus (a ton of features)

-PEQ as well as many presets and the Sound Effects Community (really great)

-Gaming oriented DSP features

-Very feature rich

-Black background keeps a clean foundation for even sensitive iems

-Clean, transparent, neutral-natural and color free sound

-Strong stereo imaging and instrument separation influence on my iems

-Provides a great environment for micro-details to emerge with clarity

-Let’s iem/headphones be what they are tuned to be

-Open and airy presentation providing the canvas for a more spacious sound

-Overall a very well done dongle dac across the board

☹️ Space II Cons ☹️

-Tanchjim app works only with Windows and Android

-No indicator light?! Why?

-No screen (this doesn’t bother me but it’d be nice I suppose)

-Nice output of 235mW max power, but not a powerhouse in comparison to other dongle dacs at its cost

-Not for listeners seeking warmth, tonal richness as it leans analytical

-Can sound somewhat dry and clinical with already lean/bright iems

HIDIZS AP30 MUSIC BOY REVIEW

Check out my full review of the AP30 here:  https://mobileaudiophile.com/daps/hidizs-ap30-music-boy-review/

HIDIZS AP30 MUSIC BOY REVIEW

Hello, I just wanted to share with you all my full review of the Hidizs AP30 Music Boy which is an entry level dap from the audio brand Hidizs. The AP30 is definitely a high performer for a budget caliber dap. Built to mimic the design of a Game Boy from back in the day and designed to “appear” to function similarly. Hence the name “Music Boy”. Honestly, for the cost you are getting a fully functional, fully hi-res dap which is built very well, especially the aluminum version. There are obvious limitations with a dap in this price range which we should all expect. However, what has endeared me to the charm of this little device has nothing to do with features. Rather, in its form factor, its size, the design, how convenient it is, and most importantly because it actually sounds better than most any dongle dac in its range and sports a very easy and intuitive “push button” style screen (non-touchscreen). In my review I touch on the limited features, but I also explain the AP30 from every angle that I could think of during the review process. I hope it helps.

If you'd like to click the link and learn a bit more about the AP30 Music Boy then feel free. If not then that's okay too, just have a good one. Take care everyone.

🔥 AP30 Pros 🔥

-Price-to-performance

-Build Quality is nice, especially the all-aluminum version

-Volume wheel with 100-step volume accuracy

-Love the design/aesthetic of the AP30. Made to mimic the design of an old school Game Boy

-Small, compact form factor which is convenient and easy to carry

-Great accessory haul for the cost

-Magnetic Magsafe case

-Battery life

-This thing has Tetris on it folks!

-Smooth functionality and UI. It may be bare bones, but it's very fluid in usage

-Low noise floor

-Nicely balanced sound influence, very clean, nice dynamic energy

-Pairs well with many different iems which is great for the cost

-Can drive most any iem efficiently and with good dynamism

😔 AP30 Cons ☹️

-I hate to say this but there are obvious limitations with the software (to be expected from every dap at this range)

-No wifi or streaming, all local files

-Bluetooth is limited to SBC codec

-Micro SD support is limited to 256 GB

-Best to use with iems as max output is around 137 mW on 4.4 balanced

-No touch display, all button controlled (actually very well done)

-Not the most colorful sound

-No gapless playback

TANCHJIM OLA II REVIEW

Here is my full review of the Tanchjim Ola II:  https://mobileaudiophile.com/in-ear-earphones-iem-iems-reviews/tanchjim-ola-ii-review/

TANCHJIM OLA II REVIEW

What is up audio people?! I just published my full review of the latest Tanchjim budget model, the Tanchjim Ola II. The Ola II is (like many of you know) the follow-up successor to the very popular original Tanchjim Ola. However, Tanchjim decided to make some changes with this newer set. For one, it is now a 1DD+1BA hybrid set and also, the tuning is different as well. I happen to be a fan. They did a great job of crafting a set that is comfortable, lightweight, nice unboxing, and a set that has a very fun, bass focused but dynamically balanced sound which keeps a more organic timbre and is more cohesive across the mix than I ever would have thought at the budget level. Typically, budget BA's don't exactly have the best track record. Tanchjim was able to give this set a tuning which blends nicely featuring a relatively deep/extended sublevel, a bigger and more meaty mid-bass, an engaging, semi-rich, and vibrant midrange, along with a sparkle and well extended treble. What I don't hear is odd timbre issues like metallic BA timbre, sibilance is almost non-existent, and there really isn't anything strident, shouty or too sharp. Overall I think this set is solid, especially for the price.

Feel free to check out my thoughts, if you'd like. If you don't want to… cool. Just have a good day, take care and I'll see you at the next review. Take care.

Comparisons:  Kefine Klean SV, Hidizs MK10 ArcSonics

🔥 Ola II Pros 🔥

-Price-to-performance

-Nice unboxing for the cost

-Great cable for a budget set

-Build is pretty nice but the comfort is very nice, very lightweight, easy on the ears

-Minimalist design is pretty sleek

-Fun, enjoyable, and engaging semi V-shaped signature mixes musicality and technical skills well

-Fairly heavy bass presence, bigger mid-bass slam keeps a rather clean profile

-Mids have nice controlled energy, more organic timbre, sparkly upper-mids

-Treble is well extended and airy enough, highly detailed and non-offensive

-Imaging is very good

-Good enough separation and even some layering of the sound field for a budget set

-Respectable detail retrieval for the cost

-Just a nice sounding set without any odd timbre moments, sibilance is not a problem, and the spectrum has a nice and cohesive sound

🥶 Ola II Cons 🥶

-Stock tips didn't work for me which, you too may have to go with 3rd party tips

-While the Ola II fits my ears well, it won't fit everyone with its bullet style

-Bass can feel a bit too emphasized for some people.

-Very sensitive listeners might find the upper-mids through treble a hair too radiant (I do not)

-Build Quality is nice, but there are better built sets near its range

-At this cost there aren't many other issues

SHANLING UA6 II REVIEW

Check out my full review of the Shanling UA6 II, here:   https://mobileaudiophile.com/dacs/dongle/shanling-ua6-ii-review-when-precision-meets-musicality/

Shanling UA6 II Review

-8 x Cirrus Logic CS43131 dac chips

-365 mW max power

What is up everybody? I have another published review and this time it covers the latest dongle dac from Shanling Audio named the Shanling UA6 II. The UA6 II is actually the successor to one of my favorite under $200 dongle dacs, the Shanling UA6. I'll be perfectly honest, I find the UA6 II to clearly be the best solid-state dongle dac that Shanling has crafted to date. It comes equipped with EIGHT Cirrus Logic CS43131 dac chips which pull off one of the better sounding dongle presentations that I've heard. The UA6 II has plenty of output power and comes loaded with features including an easy to use screen which gives you the opportunity to change just about every setting from there. Just a super cool little device folks. The sound is clean, highly controlled, influencing a very transparent sound, yet also a highly tuneful sound as well. I have been very happy with this device thus far and it was an easy decision to review it. In fact, it may be one of my favorite dongles… period. Granted, that is a debatable thing for me to declare, but when I find myself reaching for this one over several others, including other Shanling dongles, the debate seems kind of moot. Truly a dope little device.

Feel free to check out my thoughts if you'd like and I really do hope they help you in any way. Also, please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have as well. I'm happy to help if I can. Beyond that, I hope you all are having a good day and have plenty of time to soak in your music. Take care friends.

🔥 UA6 II Pros 🔥

-Familiar Shanling build, always constructed well

-The UA6 II design/aesthetic is one of my favorites

-Doesn't seem to really get hot, even under a heavier load

-8 x Cirrus Logic CS43131 dac chips is both silly and awesome

-Screen is vibrant, very easy to use and I can access just about everything from there

-Great drive power with a 365 mW max output

-I adore the quick change option to go with 4 or 8 dac chips, changing sonic characteristics

-Very clean sonic presentation neutral with a hint of warmth, and a strong emphasis on clarity, control, and musicality

-Deep sublevel bass response and a tighter mid-bass influence balances the spectrum very well

-Semi-energetic midrange with great separation, transparency, and a black background helps vocals and instrumentation to stand out well

-Clean and nicely extended treble feels airy, open, with a delicate bite

-Clean separation of notes, tighter transients, while persuading a multi-layered sound field

-High resolution across the board yet rhythmic and tuneful

🥶 UA6 II Cons 🥶

-No internal battery like we had on the OG UA6

-Slightly higher power draw than most dongles with less dac chip and no screen

-Can be less traditionally musical/warm/organic for some

-Leaner mid-bass then some of the UA6 II’s competition

-Due to the transparency, the UA6 II can expose some lower quality recordings (is this even a con?)

-The treble can feel a hair bright with already bright iems for sensitive listeners
