The most vicious creature

Timmy loves to rough house and it’s pretty comical because he’s still so tiny 😂

Garfield had lots to say

We headed to our monthly vet appointment for his arthritis injection and he was very offended that his friends left the room without him.

What do you want to see more of in books?

For me, it’s accurate representation of injuries/medical injuries etc.
I don’t want to see a character who’s taken a bullet, go back to normal in two days…that’s not how things work.
I try to write as accurately as I can, annoying my friends in the medical field to no end sometimes.
Also men who are allowed to show emotions. You can be the toughest man on the planet, but that doesn’t mean emotions will never be shown.

What is something you want to see more of in books?
Is there something that you try to do justice by in your writing?

Just give me the chicken, ma!

Timmy has discovered rotisserie chicken… and insists on needing a taste any time I’m cooking with it.

Let’s discuss action scenes!

So I’m an action and adventure writer. With a focus on spy stories right now. My favorite thing to do in those novels, is writing gritty action scenes.
I’ll attract a blurb from my novel below but I wanna hear y’all’s favorite way of showing and not telling how the action goes!

{“Liam!”
The word tore from her throat as she sprinted barefoot across the driveway. She dropped to her knees beside him, ignoring the sharp bite of gravel digging into her skin.
Blood. There was so much blood.
A deep gash on the back of his head was bleeding freely. His shirt was soaked through with crimson, dark and spreading. His face was a mess of cuts and rapidly darkening bruises, one eye already swelling shut. Carly’s hands shook as she yanked off her sweater and pressed it firmly against the head wound.}

How do we feel about the whole bodyguard/person they’re protecting trope?

I tend to enjoy it, if done well and it isn’t cheesy. Because let’s be honest, it can be cheesy.

Right now I’ve got a stand along story going about a bodyguard, who ends up falling in love with the singer she’s protecting. Although, I must admit he falls first and is totally smitten.

I needed a distraction from the darker tone of my second trilogy novel.

Nerves surrounding sharing my novel with friends

This week I reached out to the mentor I had in high school/college. I let him know that I finally finished my novel, and wanted to send him a signed copy.

To say it was well received was an understatement. He was beyond thrilled that I’ve stuck with writing over the past 10 or so years and would be honored to have a signed copy.

He should be getting it in the mail today….
What he doesn’t know is the novel is dedicated to him. Without him my writing wouldn’t have survived, and honestly, I’m not sure I would have either…

Anyway, my point is, despite being terrified to share the novel with someone I know personally, the nerves were for nothing.

Don’t be afraid to share your writing. The reception to it might just surprise you.

I have officially published my first novel…and idk what to do next

I’ve officially finished editing and formatting my novel. So far it looks great, and the friends that have read it have enjoyed it. Which is the goal.
But I was told to take a break between writing books….except I can’t help but jump head first into the sequel. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Timmy is almost 8 pounds now! He wasn’t even 4 pounds when he joined our household and even his eyesight is slowly improving! We’ve very proud of our tiny medically complex baby.
