Quick sanity check for a situation in my game

I played against a friend. Me DG, he played GK.

I basically played the same list for the last 10 games against him, so he knows my list quite well. He usually switches army list and detachments a lot, which always mean I have to kinda relearn what the strats and detachment rules are. Today we played our first game of 11th. I played a new combo of detachments, mixed it all up ended up with a detachment that basically didn't support my army and he played some new combo of detachments.

Stage is set, we play and I want to shoot at the Paladins on central objective that are in combat with my demon prince. Everything sets up to shoot and charge them, then I fall back. At which point he reveals he has a strat that lets him take his Paladins back into reserves.

Now for me this is a bit of "Gotcha". I don't know all the strats he has and imo no one can expect me to read up all the strats/rules and remember them all. He said I should have asked, when I fell back, if he can do anything then, which I feel like would lead me to have to ask about basically every move I do.

Just as a counter example: He wanted to move a unit back far enough so my poxwalkers werent able to get it in contagion next round. I told him ** "Yeah if you go there I can still get you in contagion, but Id need to use this strat." **

Please let me know, how you see it in your games?

Malignant Plaguecaster done

This one absolutely wrecked me, trying to figure out how to OSL this one was giving me so many headaches. It would really help to have a darker army scheme.

A lot of stuff happening on this model. I did try a different recipe for the armor, which I really enjoy. Basically no airbrush apart from base color. Overall Im okay with what the result is, but damn I gotta practice a lot.

Tried a bunch of techniques again, but I chickened out off my planned OSL on the base, which is why the back of it is a bit boring imo. The skin could have used a bit more color, but for now I'm okay with this guy.

Is Infantry gonna be a lot weaker in 11th?

Please help me to not get worried about infantry. As far as we know the rules, there has been a lot of changes, that are slightly in favor of big models/vehicles and a lot stuff that is bad for infantry. Just a list of some things:

  • Cleave
  • New coherency
  • Infantry has a lot more trouble to gain Cover, since partial cover is gone, especially big bricks
  • Big models have it VERY easy to get cover
  • Big models can toe footprints to get full vision
  • Free Pivot
  • Fly
  • Maps seem to have bigger open spaces? (could be wrong here)

Infantry don't seem to gain much apart from Hidden? That's it no?

Nothing is like game destroying I think, but it all warps the game in one way towards vehicles, unless I'm underestimating Hidden hardcore. Am I missing something?

I was hoping for more interesting "damaged" rules for vehicles as well.

Blighthauler Nr. 2 done

Heyo Check my second Blighthauler. Finally got it done after being perpetually in the tabletop ready phase. They might look similar, but I tried so much stuff with the skin. Good fun.

Still not happy with the way I do metals, but I'll keep experimenting :) would love some suggestions.

Second batch done. Tabletopstandard. I'm learning a lot from those commission pieces. Focusing on the more impactful pieces of a model to make it look good is really important, so you can safe time on less important bits.

One thing I have to admit. Painting black armor is no fun at all and I commend all of you guys/gals to do it for an entire army. Told the client I need to do something that's not black now ;) Feel free to share any tips you have.
