Auto cross
Just wanted to share a few photos from my last autocross event yesterday that showcases how much body roll our cars have (or I’m just a bad driver).
Car is stock d street with 245/40/17 RE71RZ’s.
I did place 16th out of 111 drivers in PAX, so I must be doing something right.
Almost there
I’m almost there in getting this thing run nicely. Might need to look at the firing pin spring and swapping. Only one light primer strike. Any ideas on how to lower rate of fire.
Build list is as follows:
-Poverty pony lower
-KAK colt mag well adapter
-BKings bolt with KAK DBC weight
-Rise Armament RA - 434
-Atrius Super Selector
-KAK extra heavy buffer 10oz. ( can’t believe I bought this last year for 50 bucks).
-Flat wire spring.
Built my first AR-9 last year and haven’t had any ejection issues with 115gr and 147gr. Yesterday went to the range to try 124gr. Goal is to run a lot of different ammo type and adjust as needed. All other range days were successful but yesterday was interesting. Would only get about 5 rounds before I would get a stovepipe. Remembered that there was an article about the ejector in relation to the bolt and took a peak at mine. That is the photo attached. I bent mine to be snug with bolt’s upper left corner like in the article. But my question is, is this truly going to fix ejection issues? Bolt weight and buffer is north of 24ounces if I remember correctly.
Thanks in advance
Are there any of you all out here that run a 245/40/17 for autocross on a 7.5 wide wheel. Ordered a set and tire rack maybe not be able to mount and balance. Just wondering if anyone else’s has experienced this. PFA.
