MobiKwik - A SCAM

Made a forex payment through MobiKwik (FX Retail via Bharat Connect). Nearly **₹2 lakh** got debited, the transaction showed **“Payment Successful”**, and then immediately **“Order Booking Failed.”**

It’s now been **17–18 days**, and I’m still chasing my own money. Customer support is completely clueless, only one answer - please wait. Nobody can explain why the payment failed, and even the grievance team has been useless so far.

Honestly, this has been mentally exhausting. I never imagined getting **my own money back** would be this difficult, especially for a transaction of this size.

Any advice on what I should do next? How do I get my money back?

FAILED Forex payment via Mobikwik/Bharat Connect – Money stuck for 15 days

Need some advice from people who’ve used MobiKwik for forex payments.

Based on recommendations from this sub, I tried making a forex payment through MobiKwik (via FX Retail/Bharat Connect). The amount was debited from my HDFC account, but the transaction ended with “Payment Successful” and “Order Booking Failed.”

It’s now been 15 days (10+ working days) and I’m still waiting for the refund. Every time I contact support, I get a different answer. No one has been able to explain why the payment failed in the first place, and the refund is still pending.

Has anyone else faced this? Is there anything else I can do apart from following up with support? HOW CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK. It was approx 1.8L payment.

Also, once the refund finally comes through, would you risk making the payment again through MobiKwik, or would you switch to another route altogether? If you’ve had a similar experience, did the second attempt go through successfully?

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences.

Am I Crazy or Does This ETF Portfolio Actually Make Sense?

Been working on the international side of my portfolio and somehow ended up here, would love some outside opinions.

AVLV 30%

AVES 25%

PAVE 20%

SPMO 15%

MCHI 10%

A bit of context: I’m from India, so my India exposure is already there and sits outside of this portfolio.

Lately I’ve found myself less excited about the usual “just buy VOO and chill” approach. Not because I think it’s bad, but because everyone seems to be crowded into the same trade.

My thinking is basically:

• US value looks more attractive than broad US markets.

• Emerging markets feel cheap relative to the US.

• China is probably the most hated major market right now, which makes me interested rather than scared.

• Infrastructure, manufacturing, electrification, power grids, reshoring, etc. seem like themes that could play out over the next decade.

• Momentum has historically worked, so SPMO is there to stop me from becoming to a complete value dinosaur.

Maybe I’m early. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m overthinking things.

What am I not seeing here? Where would you poke holes in this allocation?

What are the biggest flaws in this allocation?

Feel free to roast it.

Getting absolutely nowhere with FX-Retail and IBKR

Recently opened an IBKR account and thought funding it would be straightforward. Turns out the forex side is where all the pain is.

I got FX-Retail set up through HDFC, but they’re charging a 1.2% markup plus ₹1,000 + GST. My first transfer is only going to be around $1,000–1,500, so I asked both my RM and the forex team if anything could be done on the pricing. The answer was basically no they said the amount is too small to consider any concession.

I also checked with Kotak since I already have an account there, but the rates weren’t any better.

At this point I’m wondering what people actually do when they’re just starting out. Do you just accept the charges and move on? Has anyone had better luck with BHIM/Bharat Connect or some other route? Not really keen on opening another bank account just for this.

Curious what others are using these days and what kind of costs you’re seeing.
