I’ll be starting as a new grad nurse in the pediatric float pool. I believe it’s nerves, but I’m having second thoughts. How was your experience as a new grad nurse in the float pool? I will say I have health care experience as an LPN, so I’m not completely new to the healthcare field.
I’m all for learning more knowledge, but I’m afraid I’ll be thrown to wolves.

Seeking some insight regarding a new grad possibly applying for a position in peds float pool. Any advice, thoughts, and input would be grateful. Open to hear about any new grads that decided to choose a float pool position. Lastly, experienced nurses any “need to know” advice.
Ultimately - I want to challenge myself, learn more, get out of my comfort zone with being complacent, establish more confidence, and be able to be that resource nurse wherever I’m floated to.

Anyone with experience in corrections (state prisons)? If so, I do have a question. I see many RN travel contracts looking for RNs to work outside rounds and/or med surg hospital on prison grounds. What does outside rounds include? Any input in differentiating the two will be highly appreciated.
