Any tips on internal salary negotiations?

Hey all, does anyone have any tips on negotiating salaries for internal moves at a CRO? Has anything worked for you or is it a “take it or leave it” situation.

If you get promoted before the merit increase is effective, how does ICON work out your salary adjustment for the new role?

If you get promoted before the merit increase is effective, how does ICON work out your salary adjustment for the new role? Would they use the new salary you would get next month and increase it by 10%. Will they consider increasing it more as I have been told merit increase will not be given next year to those that get promotions

Has anyone taken a sabbatical to travel?

Hey all, has anyone at a CRO taken a sabbatical to travel? I haven’t seen anyone do this yet at my company but would love to do this in 2 years time. I’m slightly worried about how the pharma company will feel and whether they would need to hire another person to do my job while I’m away.

Have any homeowners taken a sabbatical to travel?

Hi all, I’m trying to buy a property solo right now but I’ve always had a dream of travelling full-time for a year. I have to buy a property soon as I’m currently living at my sibling’s house and wonder if any homeowners have been able to take a sabbatical and travel full time? Hoping I could maybe buy a property this year/next year and go travelling in around 2 years or so but not sure how easy this will e with so many fixed bills. Would love to hear some success stories of anyone that has been able to do this

What are the pros and cons of part exchange?

Viewed a property I like and would like to place an offer but estate agent said it is a part exchange. The owners are moving to a different new built and doing a part exchange with the developers. It was not advertised on the listing but I was informed after the viewing. What are the pros and cons of doing a part exchange?

Did this in house mortgage broker break GDPR?

Hi all, I’m a FTB currently viewing properties and one estate agent kept insisting that I speak to their in house mortgage broker. I said fine and a meeting was booked to discuss my affordability. She confirmed on the call that although they work for the same company, she will not share anything discussed with the estate agent and would just confirm that I can afford to buy the houses that I was viewing. The meeting ends and I make my way to meet the estate agent for the three house viewing. The first two houses were an instant no and the third one I liked but missed some things I was looking for. After the viewing, she asked my thoughts and I said I liked it but it was missing certain things and I listed them. Other houses in the area had them. I said the asking price is high and if I was to make an offer it would be for around 20k. She was shocked and said the sellers would not accept that and 5k less is more of a realistic ask. She then said well you can afford the asking price as Mortgage Broker H called me right after your meeting and told me you can afford X amount so this property is way cheaper than the max you can afford. This shocked me so much and I didn’t have much to say at the time due to the shock and said I don’t want to buy a property around my max affordability. Did the in house mortgage broker break GDPR? I feel like I don’t want to view any properties with this estate agent anymore and lost the ability now to negotiate

Started the toxic love story netflix documentary and here are my thoughts so far

I started watching the documentary while I was getting ready to go out with friends and I stopped at the part where Michelle is telling her side of the story and tells us about her past relationship with Ian. As soon as she said she paid the down payment for the house, I knew who the real villain will be. If Ian is a US Marshal, why would they not go 50:50 on the down payment? Personally to me that is such a red flag. Also, why would he get to live in the condo after the breakup when it was HER life savings that allowed them to buy it? Maybe that will be explained later.

Also, his bff said at the start of the doc that when his mum moved away, she stepped in. That was such an odd thing to say. It’s like he is incapable to look after himself. Maybe the real villain will be Angela but I don’t trust this guy…
