Henry really did want to put a racing stripe on that car

I completely forgot about Henry asking Philip if they could put a racing stripe on the family car. It's such a small throwaway conversation, but it gets funnier the more you know this family. Philip is trying to maintain this completely normal suburban life while Henry is basically asking if they can turn the station wagon into a race car. And Philip's answer is basically just “your mother doesn't like new things.” That's the entire Jennings family in one conversation.

Gaad going straight back to work with that broken nose is hilarious

Elizabeth absolutely wrecks Gaad and Aderholt, and then the next time we see Gaad he's just back at the office looking like he got hit by a truck. No big reaction, no time to recover. He just sits there with his completely destroyed face while everyone discusses the woman who did it. The fact that he still has to spend the rest of the day doing FBI paperwork after that is killing me.

The way Michael looks at Sucre when Sucre says something stupid is one of my favorite little things

It's not even a big reaction. Michael just gives him this tiny look like he's deciding whether it's worth explaining. You see it a bunch in Season 1, especially in the cell. Sucre will say something completely reasonable from his point of view, and Michael has that half-second pause before answering like he's already three steps ahead and forgot Sucre isn't there yet.

The footsteps in this show are almost a character

People are constantly listening for footsteps before they even know who is coming Philip does it with the bug in Gaad's office, and there are little moments all over the show where someone hears a person before we see them. It makes even ordinary hallway scenes feel like somebody might be about to walk in

Lassiter is actually much funnier when he's right

I think one of the reasons Lassiter works so well is that the show doesn't make him the idiot cop who is always wrong.

There are plenty of times where he's completely justified in being suspicious of Shawn. From his perspective, this guy appeared out of nowhere, claims to be psychic, constantly touches evidence, wanders around crime scenes, and somehow always knows things he shouldn't know.

And Shawn's response is basically to make Lassiter look crazy for noticing any of it.

Glenn almost never finishes delivering bad news.

Glenn has a habit of starting uncomfortable conversations, then immediately handing them off to someone else or getting interrupted before he actually says the worst part.

Whether it's layoffs, discipline, corporate decisions, or employee issues, someone else usually ends up being the one who lands the punch. I don't know if it was intentional, but it fits his character surprisingly well.
