Kamagaya and Matsudo, Chiba this evening
Several cars were flooded out. Had to take 4 or 5 detours, 4km was an hour’s drive! Around 17:30-18:30
Apologies for the poor quality - wipers couldn’t keep up!

Non running as “junk” for ¥3,300 or about $20.
Was pretty crusty but after cleaning and adjusting the battery positive terminal and the reversing the buckle (which was somehow on backwards), I gave all the parts a long-needed bath, dusted the and pressed her back together.
Certainly shows the scars of age, but nicely complements the black PR50 my parents got me for Christmas 25 years ago.
Now I have a "Beater PR50" for those tough days ;)
Full moon and full fish, stainless Ana-digi and mineral crystal. This baby’s got it all.
Bit of an old one here. The crown and pusher are interesting.
Pusher in a neutral state pushed in, is quick-set for the date. Day has no quick-set, need to go through the whole week but it’s monolingual at least.
Pusher pulled out arms the alarm.
Crown in position 0 winds the alarm gong.
Crown in position 1 rolls the chapter ring alarm setting backwards only. Position 2 sets the time. Automatic winding only, no manual wind for the mainspring for the time.
If alarm is sounding, pushing in the pusher stops it from sounding.
Acrylic crystal, stainless steel.
Gong wasn’t fully wound in the video, can go a bit more but usually that’s enough to get my attention for important appointments, which I totally use it for.
Found this about a decade ago for a very small price. Still wear it from time to time. She's near pristine, and tells me everything I need to know about the time of the day it is.
I bought the latter, the 7S26 at Narita airport duty free in 2007, it is a 2006 serial for about ¥7,500. It was my daily for a number of years, and then in 2013 or 2014, I was browsing a dusty old man's shop in Saitama and found the 6309, with a 1984 serial, still with protective tape on the bracelet and the original tag on it, but since it was old, he parted with it for ¥4,000. (That's about $25 at current rates).
I love the comparative similarities and differences - the polish direction on the dial, vertical vs starburst, the metal day/date wheels on the 6309, the glass crystal and display back on the 7S26, yet plastic day/date wheels.
The 6309 definitely feels a bit heavier on the wrist, whilst being a bit more compact, though the bracelets are similarly folded link. It's easier to feel the rotor winding. Despite being older than me, it's in better shape then the one I bought new as an adult. Both are great.
I’ve always loved the swatch skin watches, particularly the old chronograph ones. Bit difficult to stomach the price for new ones now that they’re over $120, but sometimes deals are out there! The face is comically small but still a fun and light watch. When I need to dress nice or wear something that’s steel and sapphire, I’ve always got the eco drive one.
No battery leakage or corrosion either. Just needed a fresh CR2016.
I guess it’s kind of a weird collab and the black and gold aren’t quite my taste but I love the mint green fascia.
