Any advise for what I can do to use the time well for my applications?

I am thinking of online courses. What and which courses would you recommend the most?

Are there any online courses that would directly help my University application or add any credit points?

I know platforms like udemy, Coursera etc exist.. Which one would you use if you were me?

Thankyou study people!

Need a Laptop for Architecture studies (Bangladesh 150k BDT)

Country

**Bangladesh (**purchasing from Dhaka, local retail stores)

Budget

150000 BDT (around 1200-1300 USD)

Are you open to refurbs/used options?

No. I need this to last 4-5 years reliably. Used/refurbished feels too risky for my first big purchase as don't know how to check for hidden issues.

Screen size

14 to 16 inches. I want a balance between portability and enough screen space for drafting editing etc .

Weight limit

No strict limit, but I might need to carry it to university and possibly abroad in the future. Under 2.5kg would be ideal. I understand that performance laptops are heavier and I'm okay with that.

Purpose

Architecture student work

3D modelling

Rendering

AutoCAD

Photo and Video editing

Graphic design

Digital art

General study work movies etc

Also content creation for my YouTube channel and social media portfolio.

I am not a gamer, but I understand gaming laptops have the hardware I need. This is my primary creative workstation for the next 4-5 years. I want to be able to take freelance work (rendering, editing, graphic design) to earn money.

Form factor

Standard clamshell laptop. Though pen support sounds nice for my work I can do without it. A solid, well-built laptop with good cooling is more important.

Intended usage

· Any softwares architecture study might need.

· Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro etc (creative editing)

· DaVinci Resolve or other software  (video editing)

· SketchUp (basic 3D)

· Blender for 3D/animations ( I want to learn)

· Heavy multitasking: multiple programs open simultaneously

· Rendering projects that may run for hours

· 4K video editing and exporting

This is my first time having a powerful machine, so I want to explore things I can't do on my phone like professional editing, design, rendering and large scale 3D projects. I want to explore creative directions.

Desired battery life

4-5 hours minimum for note-taking and light work. I know that during heavy 3D work or rendering it will  be plugged in. Just need enough battery to survive a few hours of lectures/light editing without hunting for a socket.

Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life

1. Performance — This is non-negotiable. I need it to handle heavy software for 4-5 years.

2. Cooling  — Thicker chassis with good airflow is preferred. I don't want thermal throttling.

3. Build Quality — Needs to survive daily carrying, studio sessions and occasional travel.

4. Weight — I'll accept 2-2.5kg if the performance and cooling are excellent.

5. Size — 14" to 16"

6. Battery life — As long as it survives a few hours, I can manage. Performance matters more.

Info/Requirements

· Processor: MUST be 7 H /Hs /Hx series .

· Graphics Card: MUST be NVIDIA RTX 4060 (8GB VRAM) minimum. I am willing to consider RTX 4070 if budget allows, but 4060 is the minimum and NO integrated graphics.

· RAM: Minimum 16GB DDR5 but MUST have empty slots to upgrade to 32GB later

· Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD minimum.

· Screen: 100% sRGB color accuracy (or 72% NTSC), IPS panel. 1080p is okay, QHD is nice but not necessary.

· Cooling: Good cooling system with at least 2 fans. I don't need ultra-slim.

· Warranty: Must have official distributor warranty in Bangladesh (1 year minimum, 2 years preferred).International would be ideal.

· Accessories needed: I know I'll need a cooling pad, external hard drive, USB mouse, headphone and laptop bag. Hoping to negotiate some of these for free with the purchase.

Additional context:

I'm 19  this is my first laptop and I'm buying this with my mom's really hard earned money. I need to make the right choice. I have zero tech support in real life. So I'm doing all my research online. I'm scared of being scammed or taking a wrong decision but I'm learning.

Also how the student discounts  work?

Ps. if my budget is not sufficient please let me know the realistic numbers.I will wait and save more. But I need right knowledge first.

Thank you for helping me.!

Need Laptop Recommendation for Architecture Student (First Laptop, No Tech Knowledge)

I'm aiming to be a architecture student . I also do photography, graphic design, video editing and digital art etc. I am interested in all the creative stuffs. I need to buy my first laptop but I have almost zero knowledge about PCs/laptops.

What I need it to handle:

· Photo editing

· Video editing

· Graphic design & digital art

· 3D modeling & animation

· Architecture software (AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, SketchUp, 3ds Max etc )

· Heavy multitasking without lag

· Screen size: 14 to 16 inches

· I want it to last at least 4-5 years

· I don't game but I know gaming laptops have the specs I need

· I prefer Windows (not Mac)

What I have learned so far :

· I need an H-series or HS/HX processor

· I need a dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA RTX not integrated)

· RAM should be upgradeable (minimum 16 gb)

· At least 1TB storage (SSD)

· Good color-accurate screen (100% sRGB)

· Good cooling system

My questions:

Q1. What are the exact specs I should aim for? Is my goal realistic for 4-5 years? What's the minimum I should NOT compromise on?

Q2. How do student discounts work? I'm not yet admitted to a university. I want to learn those stuffs even if I Don't end up in architecture . So I only have my high school documents. Can I still get discounts?

Q3. How might sellers try to trick me? What are the common scams or traps I should watch out for when buying in person?

Q4. What extra accessories will I absolutely need? Cooling pad? External hard drive? Mouse? Flash drive? Headphones Anything else? What can I negotiate to get for free?

Q5. What would YOU do if you were in my place? Which specific laptop models would you shortlist?

Q6. What are the things I should absolutely know before I hand over my money? Like, what should I check physically at the store?

Q7. Software costs are scary. I know most creative and architecture softwares aren't free (Adobe, Autodesk, etc.). On a student budget how can I make the most out of my creative experience? What's actually worth paying for vs what can I get for free or cheaper?

Q8. The budget reality check. I need to know realistic numbers. What's the minimum TOTAL amount I should plan for (laptop + accessories + anything else) so I don't end up shocked by extra costs?

Honestly, I'm really scared. This is my mom's hard-earned money, and I don't want to waste it on the wrong thing. I don't have anyone to guide me in real life. Please help me make the right choice.

Thank you so much in advance!

Best bank & platform for a student freelancer in BD (no NID)

I am 19. I am going to start earning soon through freelance and I have only started to teach myself financial knowledge. So I don't understand much.

I don't have any bank accounts or bkash let alone international payment system.

I don't have NID. But I do have passport and birth certificate. Will that work?

Which platform should I use to get international payments?

As a student which bank would be best? Many suggested me to open a account at BRAC Bank. Is brac the right choice?

I am also thinking of getting a debit card.

What are the stuffs I should be aware of and absolutely need to know?

Is the bank process too complicated? Will I have to pay tax and stuffs?

Thanks!
