How do I edit the audio for games with proximity voice chat?
I always record separate audio tracks for Discord, in-game audio, and my mic. But I'm editing a video of mine where some clips are from a game that uses proximity voice chat.
Before recording, I always make sure to increase my friend's in-game voice volume as much as possible. Even then, I have no clue how to emphasize their voice during editing without just manually adding keyframes to lower the game audio whenever they talk.
For my mic and Discord tracks, I use compression, but for games with in-game voice chat I don't really know what the best approach is since it's all on one audio track. A compressor feels wrong because it'd also bring up footsteps, gunshots, and other random sounds that I don't want to boost.
Is there a better workflow for this, or is manual keyframing basically the only option?
