I Would Like To Purchase Two Annual TiviMate Accounts

In a few months, I may wish to purchase a second account, as I may need more than five devices.  I have two email addresses.  I purchased the first account under this email address.  I would purchase the second account under my second email address.  I changed my sign-in to the google play store so I was signed in under the second address.  But when I went to purchase the second account in TiviMate Companion, it told me I already had an account, and refused to open the dialogue.

So what do I do if I wish to purchase a second annual account? Thanks!!

Problem with Access to Recordings Across Platforms

Dear Alex or anyone.

I've bumped into an issue with cross-platform compatibility in my Recordings storage folder.

I have two Tivimate devices I'm using at the moment, a Google TV Streamer in the living room and a Fire in the bedroom. Any recordings I make on the bedroom Fire are visible as soon as they're complete in the Recordings menu in the Streamer in the living room, no problem. But any recordings I make on the Google are invisible to the bedroom Fire.

Is there any way to fix that? Or is that just the nature of the beast? At the moment, if I want access to my recordings in the bedroom, I have to run in there every time I want to record something, and that's a bit of a pain.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Some Channels Listed In My Settings Guide Channel Line-up Not In My Live Guide!

I called into Tablo support because one of my channels had lost its guide data, and was saying Programming Not Available for that channel. Tablo Support told me to switch my location to an adjacent zip code and run a Channel Scan. When I completed that scan, all my channels in the Settings Guide Channel Line-up were still listed, no problem.

But when I switched over to the Live guide, not only was the problem channel not fixed but was still saying Programming Not Available but, in addition, two of my other Favorite channels had DISAPPEARED from the Live guide completely, even though both of those channels are listed with no apparent problems in my Settings Guide Channel Line-up.

Tablo support was stumped, politely said good-bye and told me I shouldn't contact them, they would contact me.

WTF? Has anyone had this problem before??

Basically, I started out with a guide data problem on ONE channel and now, thanks to Tablo support, that problem is still there and, in addition, I've LOST COMPLETELY two of my other channels!

ADDENDUM: I rescanned again; same thing. Exited the app and reset the Tablo. Re-opened the app; all channels were again listed in the Live Guide.

But my original problem, the channel that has lost its guide data and says Programming Not Available, is still saying Programming Not Available.

So I'm back to where I started; at least all the problems that were created by Tablo Support have now been corrected; but the original problem remains.

Lost Volume/Mute Control on My Optical Audio Output!

I have a 32R3BX 32" Roku Select TV. Suddenly, today, I've lost all volume and mute control over my optical audio output! I've tried Auto, Built-in Speakers and Optical and nothing on any of them (it's normal for Optical to have no volume control, but it's always been there on the other two settings). I checked for a software update and, sure enough, there was an update pushed to my set last night, version 15.2. When I pull up the Roku diagnostic screen it tells me the date of the update was not last night; it was May 8th, so I'm not sure why it took so long for me to get it. But I sure got it today and it's a disaster! Everything coming out of my external speakers is really loud and basically unlistenable.

Do Roku reps ever stop by here? Has anyone reported this bug in the latest software update yet?

Very Annoying Record Problem on BBC News

I'm experiencing a significant issue with BBC News when I've programmed a recording. As you know, when one programs a recording and switches to that channel live, one gets a message in the lower left-hand corner for a few seconds saying "Watch Recording." Well, that's not what's happening. I'm getting a different problem with the three platforms I have on which this feature is available, Roku, Fire and the Google TV Streamer.

Roku: I'm not getting the message at all. Instead, I'm only getting the Watch From Beginning message, as if no recording is taking place.

Fire TV: I'm only getting the shadow in the lower left-hand corner that is used to make the Watch Recording message pop out more clearly; but the Watch Recording message is not appearing. Worse, what then happens is that the shadow keeps disappearing and re-appearing every five seconds or so, an impossibly annoying thing that makes it impossible to watch or enjoy the program.

Google TV Streamer: I get only the shadow in the lower left-hand corner for a few seconds, but no message of "Watch Recording" or "Watch From Beginning." Instead the shadow just disappears after about five seconds. After that, the shadow starts disappearing and reappearing, the same as on the Fire TV.

I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried clearing the cache. I've tried clearing the data. I've tried uninstalling. None of it has any effect at all. To reiterate, this is only happening on BBC News; it's not happening on any of the other channels from which I regularly record: CNN, CNN International, Fox News, I 24, MSNBC, ABC News Live, NBC News Now, NewsMax, Scripps News, The First and WCBS Channel 2 New York.

ADDENDUM: Hey, this problem just came back!!!

ADDENDUM: And now the problem has spread to CNN International!

Video Freezing on 4K Fire TV Stick

Both I and a friend of mine have been experiencing a video freezing problem on our Fire TV Stick 4K recently. The problem started on May 15th. The first instance happened with my friend. When she would try to watch DirecTV Stream, the video would only play for about two seconds and then it would freeze. After that, the audio would continue to play for about another minute before it too would stop playing. I troubleshot the problem, trying various things. Finally we rebooted the Fire TV and the problem went away.

Fast forward about a week and I started to experience exactly the same problem -- with Hulu On Demand. At first I couldn't believe it was being caused by the same thing and figured it was a coincidence, so I tried a few things before finally rebooting the stick. And, wouldn't you know it, right after the restart everything was fine again. At this point, I'm figuring it's NOT a coincidence.

Then, today, my friend had the problem again. At this point, she's too pissed off to simply reboot the Fire again, because she's tired of Band-Aid solutions that only last for a few days and I don't blame her!

What's going on? Anyone know? Has anyone else experienced this same problem recently?

I'm thinking maybe it's an issue with running old software and perhaps we should simply make sure our Fire sticks' software is up to date. However I just checked mine and it's telling me that my software IS up to date. So could it be a bug with the current software??

I haven't had a chance to check my friend's Fire TV to see whether her software is up to date. But, in my case, it says my software was updated on May 26th; that suggests that they may have just recently pushed an update, perhaps to fix this very problem (version 6.7.1.1). But, if they pushed an update to fix this, why is my friend's Fire stick still having the same problem today??

Bottom line: Have any of you also experienced this problem lately with your Fire TV stick?

Too Much For Google TV Streamer and Fire, Works Fine on Roku??!!

I had a really strange experience today.

I added a 2 gig .mov video file to one of my local libraries today; the video stream was HEVC and the audio was AAC LC. The video bit rate was 2k, resolution was 1920 x 1080, the frame rate was 30 and the audio bit rate was 96k stereo.

Every time I tried to play the video in my Fire TV Plex app or my Google TV Streamer Plex app, it would only play for about a minute and then start buffering and I got the message that my "server" couldn't handle that speed and bandwidth.

I then switched to my Roku Plex app -- and it played perfectly fine, no buffering, no interruptions, no nothing.

WTF???
