Hi, do you know about any tools, plugins or anything that will help with working on point clouds in archicad? Native way of dealing with them is terrible. I'm not expecting much - possibility to change point size or cloud density, maybe something to cut up cloud temporarily.

It would be very nice if it would be under €500. I've seen some tools like PointCab, but their cost is absolutely out of my reach.

Or maybe you know some tips and tricks with point clouds? What is your workflow with them, 'couse I'm trying to find my way with it and for now... It wasn't the easiest thing to do.

I'm about to submit my dissertation (finally...) and I feel a bit of distaste and devaluation of my work in the eyes of others – whether family, friends, or even academics. I'm afraid this perception might be shared now by the committee, or later by people at the university.

I'm referring to a moment in history where many people look at things like doctoral dissertations and dismiss them as "probably AI practically wrote it anyway." When I talk to students, they make no secret of the fact that almost everything they wrote was generated, which makes them see no point in writing theses, claiming that they use AI for writing, while we probably use AI for grading.

Personally, I abhor LLMs and everything related to them. I don't use them in my daily life, and my work doesn't contain a single generated word. For a moment, I thought about inserting a single sentence like this at the beginning of my work, with something like this:

A work proudly written without any artificial intelligence assistance.

I'm just wondering if this makes any sense at all, and if it won't do more harm than good. On the one hand, of course, no one might believe me, and even if they do, I have the impression, looking at the broader academy, that it might not even be something to be proud of. With such a strong push to integrate LLMs into my work, and with the training courses organized by the university, I feel like I'm in the lost minority, and worse still, I might encounter some AI-bro who will even call me a backward idiot for not using AI.

I put a tremendous amount of work, effort, and heart into my work, and it's hard for me to accept that, through no fault of my own, those around me, including the university, will view this work as second-rate.

What do you think? Should I write something like this? Should I just give up and say nothing? Am I really backward and it's time to change my habits?

Jestem tuż przed złożeniem swojej pracy doktorskiej (w końcu...) i czuję trochę niesmak i dewaluację swojej pracy w oczach innych - czy to rodziny i znajomych czy nawet osób akademickich. Boję się, że taki odbiór może być podzielany teraz także przez komisję czy później przez osoby na uczelni.

Chodzi mi o moment w historii, gdzie wiele osób patrzy na takie rzeczy jak praca doktorska i macha ręką kwitując "pewnie i tak praktycznie napisało mu to AI". Jak rozmawiam ze studentami to oni już się praktycznie nie kryją, że niemal wszystko zostało wygenerowane, przez co sami nie widzą sensu w pisaniu tych prac, twierdząc, że oni używają AI do pisania a my pewnie wykorzystujemy AI do oceny.

Osobiście brzydzę się LLMami i wszystkimi rzeczami z tym związanymi. Nie korzystam z tego w życiu codziennym a w mojej pracy nie ma ani jednego wygenerowanego słowa. Przez chwilę przeszło mi przez myśl, żeby zaraz na początku pracy, w okolicy podziękowań, wstawić jedno zdanie pokroju

Praca dumnie napisana bez jakiekolwiek pomocy sztucznej inteligencji.

Tylko właśnie - zastanawiam się czy to ma w ogóle sens i czy to nie zaszkodzi bardziej niż pomoże. Z jednej strony - przecież oczywiście może mi nikt nie uwierzyć, a nawet jeżeli uwierzy, to mam wrażenie, patrząc po szeroko pojętej Akademii, że to może nawet nie być powód do dumy. Przy tak silnym parciu na integrowanie LLMów w swojej pracy, przy szkoleniach z tego organizowanych przez uczelnię mam wrażenie, że jestem w zagubionej mniejszości a co gorsza, może się okazać, że trafię na jakiegoś AI-bro, który jeszcze stwierdzi, że jestem zacofanym idiotą skoro nie korzystałem z AI.

Włożyłem ogrom pracy, starań i serca w moją pracę i ciężko mi się trochę pogodzić, że nie z mojej winy otoczenie, w tym uczelniane, będzie patrzyło na tę pracę jako twór drugiego sortu.

Co o tym sądzicie? Pisać coś takiego? Czy dać sobie siana? Czy faktycznie jestem zacofany i pora zmienić nawyki?

Preferably in grib format. I've found tons of sites and data for North America, rarely anything usable for Europe and absolutely none for Poland, and that is what I need most. Do you know any sources for such data? Thanks!
